So who else went to the river today?

This is the western most point of a peninsula just above 10 Mile Creek. It sticks out a good ways, forming a small horseshoe. The white sand was left after the spring flood. You can see the high water mark on the cypress tree. It didn't get as high here as further north. I guess it has more room to spread out.

This is an old swimming hole near the mouth of the creek. The old timers call it Old Ferry. Everyone else just says the mouth of the creek. The tree with the swing is about 8 feet from the corner of the St Joe Timber Co land. Before they leased their land for hunting, this place was real crowded in the summer. Now you have to come on a boat if you want to go off the swing. {sorry about the blur. Must have been a drop of water}

I remembered to bring my USB drive with the river pictures to work this morning. So here is a few more.

There were a lot of trees washed up in the spring flood this year.

I thought this was pretty cool. A palm tree {or a palmetto} is growing in a knothole on this oak.
