Hey all, I'm a member over at OrangeTractorTalk, but I'm reaching out here for some more exposure!

I've got a Kubota L2900 and am looking for new tires all around. Also, are there different types of tires or a preferred tire tread that most people seem to use?

I'm in South West Connecticut if it helps! Gently used is fine, too!

Hard to find used. I would go with Firestone or BKT. The rims vary, so whatever your tractor runs now, will need to stay the same tread to fit your rims.

I think there are 3 basic types. An agricultural type (R1), a turf tire, and a hybrid "Industrial" tire or R4. So it depends on your use. I prefer the R1 aggressive tread for max traction. But I'm not mowing lawns. I recommend the BKT brand for quality and value as they have a good reputation Firestones are good but costly. Tucker Tire is a good online source but probably better to buy locally to save shipping.

Call local Kubota dealer and see what he can get them from Kubota whole goods have to go thru sales not parts I priced a front tire and wheel R-4 for my L4600 around 350 dollars.

I'll second this post.

I had a customer who owned a Kubota, I didn't hold it against him. ;) He told me his best price was through his Kubota dealer. He kind of figured they must subsidize them for lack of a better word.

It depends on your local dealer. In Tupelo Mississippi the Kubota dealer wanted about $1,000 to replace my 9.5x22 front tires on my M4700 , in Fredricksburg , Va they did it for $300 @ with tubes and some labor to straighten the rim.

As you have a FEL you probably want R4 industrial tires, which are wider and support the weight of a full FEL better than R1 or Turfs. R4s are also more puncture resistant and flame resistant if you work close to a burn pile regularly.

It is unusual to see turfs on a tractor-loader.
