Picked up a 3 pt finish mower. Most fun mowing I've ever had.

Isn't grass a prerequisite to mowing?

Re: X758 Step 1.

It's funny the way you started out your first post. It sounded like you were at a Tractors Anonymous meeting.

I just looked up the 758. Nice tractor. 24HP diesel engine and 4WD with a 60" deck and a 54" snowblower - far from what we used to call a "lawn tractor" when I was a kid. Sounds like the perfect machine for what you have there.

You came to the right place for support. Congratulations.

Well, sounds like you already pulled the trigger. No worries, you'll get all the confirmation you want/need here. In fact, you'll be convinced to trade up at least once or twice in the next year or two. Keep that checkbook handy. Oh, could your location be near Pekin, Il? Thought maybe your board name is a zip code?

Thanks for catching that. That is what I was going for. And I'm sure we have some of the same childhood memories. My first mower was a reel mower and I was the horsepower. We had 2 apple trees in our yard and it seems we always had apples on the ground. Of course we moved snow with a shovel that was made like a shovel. No light weight junk like today.

I did pull the trigger and you are right about the trade up part. I've been talked to about trading up already and haven't taken delivery yet. And great guess on the zip code, it is Pekin, IL. I lived here when I joined. Lived in Brazil for 3 years since then Peoria for a year and now I'm back so my screen name fits again. I joined when I bought a SST16 zero turn. I loved it BTW.

I must say, based on your pic, it looks beautiful there, at least until the snow flies.

And as a matter of example on trading up, I went from a Wheel Horse garden tractor (that I actually still have) to a JD X485 that I found a used 45 loader for and added the 3PH, to a BX1860 to get diesel and 4WD, to a BX25 to get the backhoe. Taking a breather for a while right now - LOL.

Thanks CHD. Its a 100 acre lake and we are out on a peninsula and I love it. Not sure how winter will be since we just moved in but now I'm hoping for lots of fluffy snow, at least for a while. Sounds like you've got about every situation covered. I'm thinking upgrade vs trading. I'm hoping this is it for me. Time will tell.

Wow beautiful place. You live on a peninsula with a catamaran. Life must be good. (I hope)

I saw on the other thread you got your 758. Have fun.
