Didn't see any tools I needed in any of the Home Depot / Lowes sales flyers, but I did go to TSC and get a horse stall mat for $10 off. Will be used to make a cutting edge for my rear blade for snow removal. Glad I waited until it went on sale.

I've been wanting a nice grill like the Weber Genesis so went to HD to see if they mark them down. No dice, like JD, Weber won't allow for markdowns. Like others have said, they had good sales on cordless drills but I already have what I need so I left with nothing, not even a free donut. :D

I don't know that I've ever shopped Black Friday like this year. I bought 2 JawHorses for $99 each ($60 off), a Ridgid jobsite tablesaw for $199, 4 carbide 10" tablesaw blades for $5 each, 5 skilsaw blades for $15, and a bunch of LED "can lights" for $15 each.

When I got home I put my Makita jobsite saw on Craigslist for $150 and it sold in 4 hours (for $140). Had the Makita for 12 years but after using a $450 Bosch, realized how crappy the Makita was. It was not like their modern tools, the 2703 tablesaw was like some kind of time-warp to 1980s Makita. The Ridgid has wheels and a pull-handle, has an extendable table, and a much better fence. Hope it lasts 12 years though.

I was in Sears tool department but I was not in the shopping mode. I just could not justify any more tools.

I guess the best bargain I got was a pair of 18 volt DeWalt battery packs for $99 at Rural King. At one point I had 7 or 8 good battery backs and through the last 3 or 4 years at one dying here or there I was down to two that weren't at their peak anymore. Probably still need to get a couple more to get me back to having a decent amount for working on a larger project, but that'll have to wait until after Christmas.

I find it's cheaper to buy the combo tool kits when they go on sale at HD or Lowes. Last year I bought an 18V kit with flashlight, sawzall, drill and two batteries for $10 less than the two batteries would have cost separately. It's ridiculous.

I didn't buy anything but that was mostly because the deals offered were not much different than the deals they occasionally offered during the year. In fact I saw some deals that I believe were higher than earlier in the year.

Factor in the hassle and it didn't seem worth the bother. Just my two cents and it might be influenced by the fact I'm getting older and already have most of what I need.

You guys with DeWalt 18v NiCad battery packs, they are warranted for 2 years from date of purchase. There is a manufacture date stamp melted into the yellow case too, probably a month or two preceding your purchase date. I have had DW warranty several batteries at their service center here in Seattle.

A note regarding this. If you have a battery with very short runtime, and you bring it in fully charged they will declare it to be OK. Mark the weak battery and dont charge it before the warranty attempt.

Online, got a new Dewalt 18v impact driver with battery and charger for $100. Cheapest I've ever seen it.

That is a good deal. I bought one (bare tool) a couple of months back for $99.
