Felt lined boots?

Anyone have Army mickey mouse boots? Lots of ice fishermen swear by them.

Have you looked at muck boots?

I have them and love them. But don't think you can just wear a normal pair of so me and be fine. The colder the climate the thicker the sock with mucks and you'll be fine. I like merino wool socks.

I wear a Canadian brand - Kamik. Had the same pair for 25+ years now. Only wear them when its really cold and plowing snow with the tractor. I tend to have cold feet but with a light pair of wool socks these boots have always kept my feet warm.

Muck boots are too expensive for me to justify. It'd be one thing if they were made in the US, but they aren't.

I have almost retired my felt boots since getting a pair of Muck Arctic Sport boots several years ago. They are not as bulky as pacs, and much easier to get on/off. Felts only come out for - degree temperatures.

I wish they were made in US too but they are worth the money if you shop around. I have seen the price vary drastically even at local stores, we're talking $25 a pair difference in stores that are 2 miles apart.

I give right around $90 a pair.

Edit... Holy ****, I see online prices starting at $109 up to $169 for the same boots! I thought $25 price difference was bad.

Let us know what you decide.

So after hemming/hawing for over a week, I was at Tractor Supply earlier today and noticed they had these Itasca lined boots. Not the best quality-wise but for $60 I figured at least my feet would be warm for about 2 hrs. of plowing I had to do later that afternoon.

Big mistake. They were so bad I almost think this particular pair might have been defective. I could actually feel the cold air coming right through the boots! I did see that the liners seemed much thinner than what I had remembered but thought perhaps-- newer technology than those old? Hardly. More like, cheaper technology.

Yeah, I know... should have listened to those here suggesting a higher quality product but my spinster side thought maybe I could get away with it. Live and learn. :(

Still have a couple pairs of the old military Muckluck Airforce boots. they car the canvas, rubber and felt ones that lace up to the knee. Nice & warm worked great for fishing winter late fall and on ice.. ;)

No match for tractoring tho as the rubber and canvas rips too easy & sole way too soft for clutch....
