We can identify what we want. To change it you would need to kill the EPA department.

I find it strange that a huge manufacturer like Nissan promotes a tie up with a separate engine maker. It's almost like saying "we don't know what we're doing so we paid someone else". I'm not aware of that ever happeningin modern times in Europe, except maybe in heavy commercial vehicles. There are plenty of engine sharing and development arrangements going on, but the makers keep it quiet over here.
Is Cummins seen as such a market leader that it actually enhances Nissans own brand to be associated with them?
It enhanced Seat and Skoda quite a bit to be associated with Volkswagen. Seat had a poor brand image because it used to build Fiats under Italian management, and Skoda had a poor brand image from the Communist era because of the RWD, outdated undercarriage, even though their first Favorit front wheel drive car, developed before the VW era. was in its own segment, not a bad car at all and it sold reasonably well in the West.Is Cummins seen as such a market leader that it actually enhances Nissans own brand to be associated with them?
your Vauxhalls are a rebadged Opel since the 80sIt's all very interesting because it's easy to think that with globalisation, there not much different, but clearly North America is still substantially different to Europe, and I like that. I remember as a kid we used to go on holiday to Europe and see weird Renaults, Seats and Opels that you rarely saw in UK, but now it's more or less all the same bland stuff everywhere.
