I dont have a problem out of my Lee turret 4 hole press. It indexes right every time slow or fast pulls. If the square wears out that rides the shaft it came with an extra. If they wear out there like $0.75 each so its easy to have a few on hand just in case. the primer on the press is a little finiky but i like it better than the hand priming so i use it, its way faster.

I have the hornady lnl system myself, and even though its a bit tricky at first, i do turn out lots of ammo pretty quickly. I only use this stuff for taget practice. I still buy critical defence ammo for my carry guns. I shot 100 rounds of .45 in my XdS yesterday afternoon..... Man thats a sweet gun. I have formulated a load that hits my guns sweet spot for accuracy. Mine is set up with the auto case feeder, but not the auto bullet loader.

Yea i dont dare load Defense ammo. I have never had a fail to fire or anything, but i want to make sure that crimp is strong and the case is in spec and the powder stays dry etc, if i ever need it!!!!!

I like the xds but i think i will end up buying the M&P but i know it dosent come in .45 i dont think?

The S&W MP in .45cal is the front runner for the U.S.Military...crazy Gov. going from the .45 to the 9MM and back to the .45.A move the never should have done(going to the 9MM)
You should try the XD's;they are great guns,I have one in 9MM and another in ..40S&W.

I think the primer feed problem has cleared up. I loaded 100 rounds and didn't have the first none feed issue although I did have one primer that just would not go into the case no matter how hard I pushed on the handle. I discarded it and loaded a new one and it went right into the pocket.
It still miss indexes occasionally, but this could be as described because of a slow rotational pull. It is almost always after the resizing that it fails to fully index so it might be that I am not moving the handle as fast as I should.
All in all, I like the press but it really is a busy operation when all 5 shells are moving about the turret.

one oth3er thing about Hornady. They will always send you free replacement parts should anything break. I snapped off the decapping die tail piece today...due to my stupidity. and i called them. no questions asked, the tech guy is mailing me 2 replacements. no charge.

That is an excellent set up. I don't think I could afford the components to keep that thing running more than about an hour. Without having any auto feed setup, I can reload faster than me and my partner can shoot them up.

A couple days ago we bought some 3/8" thick scrap plate ($100 worth) and so far out of one piece, I have built 5 body silhouettes and 5 each 9" square targets. I so far have built 2 saw horse style contraptions to hold the targets. We wanted to be able to move them rather than be fixed in one spot and I had a bunch of 2x4, 4x4 and 2x6 lumber. I built one proto-type to see how it would work with a single silhouette on it and it worked perfectly. The 3/8" boiler plate doesn't show any damage from .357 or .45 LC ammo even when shot from a rifle at close range. I was afraid it wasn't going to be thick enough but it seems to work well enough. They ring pretty good when hit also.

We also got some 1/8" or maybe 3/16 (haven't mic'ed it yet) armor plate that I will make some .22 targets out of later.
We got the plate for $.22 per pound prices so it was reasonably priced. Compared to buying on 16" prefabbed circle from AR400 plate for $100, I think we did well. I did use about 500 PSI of oxygen and 50# of acetylene cutting out the shapes so far, about 10 welding rods welding on the chains and about 8 hours of my time to build the two sawhorses and mount 2 silhouettes and 2-9" targets. More to come later.

Tomorrow I go for my CCW class.

Dillon also provides parts free under their, "No BS warranty". In fact, though I've never needed this service, you can sent them the whole machine and they will completely refurbish, test, and return it, all at no charge. It doesn't matter if you were the original purchaser or not, if you find one in a scrap heap, the no BS warranty still applies - - probably the reason prices for used Dillon stuff is not a lot less than buying new.

I have a Dillon 650, a Super 1050, and a RF-100 automatic primer filler - all excellent. Have no experience with Hornady (except for their excellent V-max bullets!).
