Put a tap on your honeybee hive!

THANKS for the link!!! Cool stuff! Will be interesting to see how it works out for them.

Pretty excited right now - as of a couple of weeks ago, both of my hives have made it through the first part of winter. Hopefully they'll survive this current week of zero or sub-zero temps at night.

I hope this gets on market soon! Getting honey out of hive is one reason I wasn't interested in bee keeping. This got me attention...

I'm inclined to think that honeyflow.com is a joke instead of being something that actually does work.

I can't imagine how something like this could possibly work. I don't see anything on the Michael Bush website referring to this. The idea is being met with great skepticism on the largest beekeeping forum that I frequent, and since Michael Bush isn't popping up to support or refute his quote (and he's a frequent contributor) maybe he's in on the joke. I think its a prank.

I am also a Beek and a bit gun shy of this so called invention. We shall see.

When you think about the process the bees go through such as making the cells, storing the nectar, fanning the nectar until the moisture is at or below 12% and then capping it with wax, you realize it's a hoax. Also take into consideration the fact that bees will build out comb in unpredictable patterns such as between frames, on top of and underneath and anywhere they please. I don't buy it either. If Michael Bush is anything, it's au naturel given his propensity for chemical-free beekeeping coupled with small-cell comb building.

My first thought on this was that it was a hoax, but.... Who knows? There are a lot of people out there that are smarter than I am. Whether or not they're smarter than the bees remains to bee seen.

I just googled "bee hive honey tap" to see what would pop up. If this is a hoax, these guys sure are getting their 15 minutes of fame. Here's one article that describes how it supposedly works.

Time will tell if this is a hoax or not. If it is a hoax, there could be some trouble brewing (fraud charges?) from their CrowdFunding attempt.
