I was working with the Kubota today and looked down to see the front wheel had dropped off the bead.

Propped her up on the bucket and outriggers.

Cleaned the dirt off the rim.

Went to garage and grabbed some carb cleaner.

Shot some in the tire, lit it and POP tire seated on the rim.

Plugged the pump into the cigarette adapter and pumped up the tire.

total down time about 10 minutes.

I knew about this trick, but had never done it. Very cool.

Be very careful how much you put in. Use a long match if you have one. It is very dangerous and a good way to make sure you have no hair on the backs of your hands at the least.

Glad it worked for you. If the tire does not seat after a couple of tries give up and use air. I was foolish and ruined a garden tractor tire.

Yeah, I only gave it a second or two squirt. Lit it by lighting the carb cleaner and used it like a flame thrower.

No compressor yet, so air wasnt an option.

I've done it a few times but it scares the snit out of me every time. Watched two guys try to reseat a 44" bogger on a mud truck about 10 years ago, one of them ended up in the hospital with burns to his face and neck. Lucky he didnt lose his eyes. Be careful.

Now that is too funny. Hopefully you let your buddy hold your beer while you were working on this.

Hey, i fixed my tractor using fire yesterday. That is some pretty manly stuff. As opposed to my office job every day, which is pretty mundane crap.

I used a ratcheting tie down strap around the tire on a JD110. As I tightened the strap, it pushed the bead outward enough to make a seal and the compressor did the rest. Much safer, but I agree its not as adventurous. And not everyone has a ratchet strap lying around.

If you use too much the tire can fly apart - and hit whoever or whatever is nearby.

And what is really interesting is a thing called tire pyrolysis. Google it. Talk about having the snit scared out of ya.
