Tell you what, our van has a backup camera, and its pretty darn handy! I heard that all vehicles will have them by 2018 by Federal mandate. (Unfunded of course.)

James, now that's not true,,,, it's funded,,,,, by us.....

Forget the trailer; imagine him on the road. FWIW, the PC term is Asian man. Oriental left with Disco.:confused3:

If he had started with "Chinaman" this could be a scene out of the Big Lebowski....

I had a Walmart purchased camera that mounted on the license plate bracket. Worked for the taller hitch trailers.

Until I stepped on it one time to many.

Doing it again, I would wire a power switch to it. That way when I am doing the dance to mate the hitch and have to pull forward/back the camera would stay on and not have to synchronize with the display ( a real pain when it's just a a foot or two in either direction of motion). Most of the aftermarket cameras are wireless. I would attach it to the back up lights, just add a relay so that I can bypass the back up lights (that way when in parking lots it will get used). It is convenient with a 4 door long bed and somebody squirts out behind you. Not worth the accident even when you are right.

And one of these days I will install the camera I bought 2 years ago (hey, it was free -- 100% rebate at Ace/Truevalue summer sale).

Hey... one of my best friends is a builder that goes by the name Irishman Tom...

Not once in the 30 years we have been friends has he ever been offended by that...

When he started as an apprentice there were 4 Toms on the job... since he was born in Ireland he became Irishman Tom and it stuck... later, when the Foreman had a special framing job that had to be done just right he would say put Irishman Tom on that job...

Don't get me started on my Tool and Die maker friend German Mike...

None, but Amazon, Walmart, Auto Zone, Target, Ebay, ect all have them for that or less and they work very well.

Chris
Hey Chris, Can you please provide a link to the camera you think works best.
I would love to put one in my truck.
By any chance, do is there a good one that is wireless ?

On average it takes me 3 walks without a spotter to hook up to my 2-axle equipment trailer. With a spotter it's 4.
