JOHN THOMAS, I thought that the new BX25D had a lot of neat new features, but at this point I would never consider one given the problem that you described. I do hope that Kubota takes care of this problem!

Im in the same boat Check. I have saved almost 5000 towards selling my bx2370 or trading it in and upgrading but im scared to death to even consider it if the bx25d does this....

I to hope Kubota fixes the problem but they never did on the BXxx50 series till they came out with the BXxx60 series. Guess tractor companys only do recalls for stuff like seat bolts that customers can do themselves and will rather than haul their tractor to a dealer.
If customers and potential customers will lodge their objections to the problem, it will get fixed.

My bx25d rolls on a slight incline as well. I use the break quite often, it coasts as well, creeps. I've lubed the **** out of the grease zerk, still does it. Ugh closest dealer is an hour away, also got the notice for the seat bolt nut.

If that's the case then my bx2370-1 has a problem too because mine will creep down a steep hill even with my foot off the HST pedal. No fast mind you but she will roll.....

I guess im struggling envisioning your issue johnthomas. My bx2370 rolls till the pedal finds its way back to center when I let off...takes a few moments but it does get there and stop. when im moving slow and carefully she is very responsive though and slows and stops when I move my foot. perhaps mine isn't doing what yours does because I envision yours rolling even when letting off the pedal no matter what rpm, what speed, or what range.....yes that would drive me nuts too...... ill post a video of how mine behaves and hopefully you will find time to do the same.

It might have a problem. Probably just an adjustment. Could be age (by passing). Or overloaded beyond the capacity of the HST. Mine used to walk sometimes and I would have to use the parking brake...mainly cause I would forget to adjust it back at the shop.

Maybe these videos will help show how hst works:

Note that in the center (neutral) position that there is no oil flow. With no oil flow the transmission is effectively hydraulically locked. It can't turn and neither can the wheels. Applying reverse won't stop you any faster and may either break traction or the transmission. Thats why I asked about the hill. If the weight of the machine is enough to get this thing rolling and the HST is not holding it...then its an adjustment on the handle or something is not quite right with the system. Surprised the Barrows guys didn't say that.

Again this is my two cents and just spit balling to help out and to learn myself. I do not own a Kubota so things maybe different. We put HST like winches on Navy ships for Towed Arrays for over 30 years and the drum would stop because the transmission was in neutral. From there we would lock mechanically because the array would be deployed for days and it would not be good to have the hydro hold it for that long.

Going to stop by a Kubota dealer this week. I am trying to decide between a small L or big B myself. I was just going to get a bx and be done with it but I have talked myself up the ladder. He has a bunch of the bx25s on his lot and he sells a ton of them. Known this family for a long time, see if they are seeing issues. I will also take one out for a spin and see if I can replicate what you are seeing. To be honest I don't expect to find it. If this was a common problem wouldn't this place be lite up with people screaming?

When was the last time the HST fluid was changed, if its been awhile contaminated fluid could be something...or is this a brand new machine?

I posted these videos before...maybe they will help

I will let you know what I find out.

I suspect that only people who know how a typical HST Kubota recenters the HST would notice the issue on the new BX 25. So many BX owners are first time tractor owners. They may not know any different.

Same thing happened with the BXxx50 series. Most buyers had nothing to compare it to and just figured it was a tractor and not a car. One owner here with BX25D said his didn't do it after a year and a half of owning it then checked his after reading about it and said his did the same.
Also the BXxx50 series took a financial hit because of the issue and people knowing about it, the abrupt stop in reverse when buying used tracors and the BX25 will suffer some financial issues if it isn't fixed on all built BX25Ds so some keeping quiet for this reason and I gave it a lot of thought before telling of the problem that so far hasn't been able to be greased or adjusted out. Some are saying it can't happen with an HST but I can assure that it is happening and it's wrong.
Some are doing input here without reading the entire thread which has some questions/input that has already been covered/explained. These are mostly new off the lot BX25Ds and some have been returnd to dealers with no fix and the master mechanics at Kubota should be able to do any adjusting, fluid changes and greasjng and those have not fixed the issue.
One other point. I had the tractor for awhile and driving into a pile of dirt or gravel will stop the tractor and spinning around and dumping it on the move will never show the problem. I noticed it when I picked up a 2 bottom plow and was going up to the side of my buyers new truck to place the plow in his bed and the tractor continued to roll forward while I was about to panic hunting for the brake that had always been on the right side but has been moved to the left side.Yes, at that time I noticed my new BX25D had a problem and I lubed the pedal area which had no effect so to the dealer it went which I drove the BX25D the 2 miles up the hwy to them. Went back some days later and not any different so adjusted again and then a fe days later and I went back, tried it again, better but not fixed but drove it the 2 miles back to my property.

I have a BX 25D and it actually starting rolling down the hill fast when it was off. When I say fast it has always kind of slowly jerked down a slight incline. This was a fast jerky roll. This was a couple of weeks ago and hasn't done it since and actually forgot about it until I read this post. Not a steep hill and of course the parking break was not on. Is that normal?

I had no idea it was supposed to stop. I keep my foot on the brake when going down a steep hill.
