hey Clemsonfor -

You're a professional forester, no?

I found this and thought you might like it. I've never seen one before.

someone posted this sometime back.. I think I saw it here on TBN..You would need a high HP tractor to operate it Don't think my 3110 would handle it well :D

Cut the bottom out of a galvanized tub, unside-down over stump, fill with bag of charcoal, light, cover with bottom, check back in a few days, no mo stump. Did half dozen stumps like this until someone threw my tub out with trash.

As slow as that is geared down, I don't think it would take a lot of HP to run it from a 540 PTO shaft.

You would need a tractor with a lot of size and mass. A smaller tractor will get thrashed about by the high varying torque.

I didn't realize when I posted it that this .gif is a good test for slow DSL.

In town where I posted it, the cutter went around nearly as fast as a post hole auger.

Now viewing it out here at the ranch on 1.7mbs rural DSL, the cutter crawls.

At least coming back to this thread a subsequent time, the picture re-loads from local cache and runs at normal speed.

Now I'm really off topic. :D

Trails End, I don't have any info on it. I found it as a 'look at this! post elsewhere, with no explanation.

That is cool! and yes i am a professional forester.

That would be a good thing for my customers that operate campgrounds, to remove tree stumps in the areas.
