What I eventually figured out was that there is no "perfect" tractor. I.e., you're not going to find one with the best quality, the best price, the best features and the best specs. It's all a compromise. Pick a couple in your price range that you like the best, and then figure out which tractor and which dealer you are most comfortable with.

Just food for thought... Which company and dealer will best support warrenty work?
Also, when you finance with kubota you can get their insurance which amounts to very good insurance for the life of the loan. LS may be the same.
Also... FYI, all of Kubota's treadle pedals are designed to be operated with your foot off to the side. Something you probably already know but a common misunderstanding.

Am I thinking to much about the horsepower and not size? The only thing I can think of using the PTO for is the cutter. I will be running a box blade and possibly a regular blade but not nearly as much as the loader work I will be doing.

I have been doing that on Deere 4400HST and had only slight slowdowns. When I first started I'm sure that area had not been done for about 10 years. After the initial clear it wasn't a problem.

Am I really looking for horsepower for load work or a stronger tractor with lift and breakout? Or does the horsepower play a role in that. (I'm still new don't be mad if it's a stupid question)

Go with the W.R. Long 3rd Function on whatever you get. Clean and simple install, works great. No Propriety parts except maybe the joystick toggle switch. I think it was about $850 on the MX5100. Everything was mounted inboard on the MX5100. Some of the newer Kubota kits are mounted in some really bad places like underneath the deck and very exposed.

Take the tractors you like, then decide which dealer you like best. If you plan on having it a long time the differance in price upfront becomes a lot less meaningful in 10-20 years

It's my father-in-law's. Thing has less than 500 hours but his son has treated it like crap and even flipped it one time. I have used it a few times and it quit on me once. I don't want to get the blame for anything that happens to it.

You might try Harpster Equipment up in Moberly. I drove by there the other day and it looked like they had a pretty amount of stuff on the lot.
