Go for it. The 4 cylinder Jeep motor for that year rarely die and it should be fuel injected. I had a Cherokee with the same motor, slow but it went wherever you wanted it to go and almost unstoppable in 4lo. You will probably be patching the frame.

For $400 I would buy it. I don't even need one because I already have a side by side.

For SURE!

My dear old '87 Bronco II is now a farm vehicle. Bought some decent M/S tires for it in OEM size, but nothing else. I'm thinking about some decent neoprene seat covers to cover the slowly deteriorating OEM velour seat covers. I do like that the A/C still works (converted to R134). That's nice for when your using it for sweaty farm chores. Your typical UTV won't have that big hatch cover in back to use as an umbrella when you're using it doing rainy chores. It is also quieter for cruising around in the woods than my F-I-L's UTV.

It doesn't get much use, so the brake rotors are always rusted and squeaky, but that doesn't bother me any. It's also still completely road worthy for an occasional trip to town or as a back-up/emergency vehicle. It has permanently marked its spot out back with a few oil and transmission fluid drips.

Well, I talked to the guy on the phone today. He's pretty excited that his Jeep that he's had for 20 years is coming out to the farm for retirement. Of course part of the deal is that he can come hang out and drive it around if he gets the itch (again, friend of mine, not a stranger). We settled on the final price of $300 cash and $150 worth of vegetables (produce farming is our business). I told him that I'll be there in the next day or two to bring it home.

Best part is that this whole deal has happened while my wife is visiting family in Portland. Normally I wouldn't consider purchasing a vehicle without at least letting her know, but for 300 cash dollars, it would be silly not to buy it. So... I'll get to surprise her when she gets home. Imagine her excitement!! Oh, the other best part is that it's black, the same color as our Honda Fit and F250, so it'll fit right in.

I would do it for sure. Currently looking for a Suzuki Samurai or Tracker/Sidekick for cruising my property and trails. Kubota RTV and similar are the only things that are close in function but 5x the price.

My neighbor just bought a very nice Polaris side by side, designed for sport, not so much work. It's not a Razor(sp) but close. He was over $10K out the door. He can afford it and he enjoys it, I enjoyed the ride he took me on, thing is very fast. I could never justify spending that much $$$$$ on a sport side by side. Even a nice quad 4x4 with the large engines are crowding 5 figures. I think they are up to approx. 850cc these days.
