I have good service from a Nissan brand thermos I bought from Cabelas.

Will

Same here. Mine's all stainless and keeps it hot like the old glass lined Thermos' did.

I've got most of an old 2QT Stanley SS. I write "most" because the handle broke off about 30 years ago, and I write "old" because it's about 40 or 45.

We routinely take it on our Fulton, Mississippi to Alexandria, Va "commute", which takes 12 to 16 hours. If the thermos is preheated (as recommended) it will keep the coffee hot for about 4 or 5 hours, which by then we've usually drank 1/4 to 1/2. Often, if the coffee lasts, it will still be lukewarm at destination.

I like simple tools that work well for a long time.

As much as i hate to say it anything with Yeti in the name keeps stuff warm or hot for a long time. I just dont like it as its the new "cool" thing for yuppie type outdoors people. That said i dont own anything yeti, nor will i spend that kind of money on thier stuff

I voted for Stanley Aladdin 2qt. I have had mine for 18 years. Rugged, low cost and keeps coffee hot all day.
I fill it with boiling water and let it set while I make the coffee. No problem keeping it hot.

Do the same with my soup thermos. Nice to have hot soup in the cold afternoon.

Between Army life and later I've had just about all of them. Some of the new made-in-China models look like the old ones except for the label, but don't work.

Hands-down, end-of-story best is the Thermos-Nissan. It is smaller outside but keeps coffee hot a lot longer. So of course Thermos discontinued them but you can still buy them. I have two and a 16 ounce.

This might be the same, now branded Thermos.

Posted this on another forum last year.

So I've learned a lot more about this subject. Aladdin sold the Stanley name to a Chinese company in 2002. The bottles made before then were made in USA, and work well. Those after 2002 say "Made in China" on the bottom. I found another difference from my old wide-mouth [made in USA] bottle: the labels are different. The US made product says "Aladdin Stanley." The China-made product says "Stanley - since 1913." Not sure if that is true for all, but that is the difference in mine.

Couldn't find the thermocouple for my tester but I poured hot water into all three last night and checked it with my finger this morning, 12 hours later. I did not use boiling water because coffee is usually brewed at 160-180, not 212.

The wide-mouth, made-in-USA Aladdin Stanley was still hot. The Thermos Nissan was still hot. The made-in-China Stanley was room temperature, officially sucking balls.

I have a thermos brand bottle that works great. I hate coffee so it only sees cold liquid. I fill it up it the morning with water out of the refrigerator and add a handful of ice cubes. It sits in the hot truck all day and sometimes I forget to get it out and it still has ice by the next day. Just for the heck of it I just filled it up with the hottest water my sink could provide which was 130 degrees. I will post the temperature of it in the morning. You guys can hate on yeti all you want, but their products are awesome. image-1463996231.jpg

The water in my jug was 123 degrees after 11 hours. It was 130 when I started.

Edit after 17 hours the water has cooled from 130 to 119.
