I'm not familiar with the clutch arrangement on this tractor with the shuttle, is it a conventional mechanical foot clutch with separate fwd/rev wet clutch, or dose the foot clutch just neutralize the fwd/rev clutch pack?

Excellent question. Wish I could answer it. I don't have a shop manual.

Based on that info, the clutch pedal cannot be adjusted like a typical mechanical clutch. Hillbilly, you should probably undo the changes to the linkage and try to put it back as original. Unless some else is intimate with the system a service manual might be needed to go any further.

Afraid I don't have much other advise to offer, if the transmission shifts well by sliping the shuttle to neutral but not with the foot Pedal then id say the issue is the foot pedal modulating valve or setup and not the clutch packs.

My Kubota power shuttle is the latter style. Even then I stop to switch ranges and to switch gears. The only thing I do while moving is pull out if forward or reverse, pause until near stopped, and then push or pull into fwd or rev and let the transmission take it from there.

It is actually my favorite transmission.

Found this, I'm not sure it will be helpful. I couldn't find the model number for the trans or much of anything else on the trans. Tractor parts and attachments: Power Shuttle.

Wow; I thought a clutch consisted of a flywheel, disc and pressure plate. Apparently I was wrong.

My Massey doesn't have the "dynashift" tranny. The shuttle shifter only has forward, neutral or reverse selections. No "manual" selection. But I can shift, with the engine at PTO rpm, from forward to reverse or vise versa without clutching . I can also put the shuttle shifter in neutral, change gears, with the engine still at PTO rpm and shift into forward or reverse.

I doubt I can return the setting to it's original location but I think you are onto something with the "modulating valve" issue (if my tractor has one).

I've had issues with the hydraulic system since the tractor was new. When it was under warranty I had it back to the dealer at least a couple of times for hydraulic issues. After a bunch of problem chasing, the mechanic discovered there were plastic pieces floating around in the hydraulic system. Apparently they were from a temporary plug that didn't get removed during initial assembly of the tractor. Now I'm thinking there may be some pieces they never found that may be causing this new issue.

That sound like a logical starting point. The question is can you back flush the system as whole or directly access the shuttel circuit without splitting the tractor?

Without a shop manual I wouldn't be able to figure it out. The next time I go to "the big city" I will stop in at the tractor dealer and talk to them about the issue. Maybe they can help me with some info. Maybe copy a few pages from the shop manual, or I might have to bite the bullet and buy one. Last time I checked, the shop manual was around $450 US, before shipping, duty and taxes. That would make it close to $700 Canadian without duty or shipping charges. I found sites that will email a copy for $20 but after some research I found some of those sources are not trustworthy.

My MF 1547 with only 600 hrs on it has developed an issue with shifting. It has a powershuttle transmission, which is basically a 12 speed manual tranny with a power shuttle that allows me to shift from forward to neutral to reverse without using the clutch. I can also change gears without using the clutch by simply putting the shuttle in neutral then shifting gears and moving the shuttle back to forward or reverse. The problem I am having is that the transmission does not want to shift gears when it is cold. It is like the clutch is not releasing, although if I depress the clutch pedal the tractor will come to a stop. But I cannot change gears until the tractor has stopped moving. The issue slowly goes away as the drive train warms up. The temps around here are between 5 C and 15 C which is not very cold. I have
adjusted the clutch freeplay and the first time I did that, it helped for a little while, maybe a week, but now it is back. I don't want to adjust the
freeplay any higher or I might be riding the clutch constantly.

Anyone have any ideas as to what might be causing this?
Hmmm. I have a 1240 from the 90's and if I remember right, It doesn't like being shifted into forward or reverse without the clutch. interesting.

According to Tractor data it has a synchronized shuttle, not a power shift.
Syncro shuttles generally need the clutch to forward/reverse.
