Here are the crates I built for firewood that hold a face cord I put an eye hook in the back that hooks to a short chain that's hooked to my pallet forks this lets me dump the pallet of wood out into a pile. My family business is a campground so I sell and deliver wood by the facecord to a campsite and I can dump it out and not have to get off the tractor.
Also here are some pics of my wood piles, the loose pile is all stuff that the power company left when they trimmed the right of ways last winter, and stacked logs are pretty much all red and white pine that I got for free cause no one in town wanted any of it when the local municipality cleared an area for putting in a solar grid.

Andy, how do you like the fx90 for the 4 series? Is it a good match in your opinion?

I really liked the winch , it was a good match, it belongs to a good friend of mine who let me borrow it last year. The only thing I didn't like was the driveline angle when the blade dug in soft ground when winching. I plan on purchasing a fx110 in the future which I have been told is a revamped fx 90 , which they also raised the hieght of the pto on the winch. I feel that would be a lot better for a 4 series deere, although I never had a problem with the fx 90 I just didn't like how those angles were.
I rarely ever ran the tractor over an idle winching and pulled some pretty impressive logs for the machinery I was using.

I've never heard of a silver maple. Is it a species of maple or a description of attributes like a "wolf pine."

Pretty sure we call it "Red" or soft maple (up) here. I used to live down in Terry's neck of the woods and silver or swamp maple was the name I knew it by also.

silver maple and red are two different trees Acer saccharinum and Acer rubrum respectively, though i have heard people call both water maple and yes they are soft maples, and quite similar. though when the red maple change for fall it is very very red

They both sound like widow makers to me.

Clearing dead falls and wife helping split wood. Something very satisfying with splitting wood and filling the wood rack.
