I love my little BX23, but I would absolutely love to have a mini-ex. It would make a lot of jobs go much faster.

I can't help myself. I'm a Kubota man, since 1986. I have never had a bad experience in all that time. But, you are right about the backhoe thing. A setup for my mx 5100 was going to be over 10 grand, and I knew I wouldn't be happy. So, I waited and got what I really wanted.

Well, guys. I finally did it. Went today and bought a Kubota KX 71 mini excavator. I've been drooling over one of these for three years, and finally the wife looked at me and said "let's do it". She even sat there and wrote the check. Waiting now for the dealer to put the quick attach bucket and hydraulic thumb on. Might get it next week. Can't wait to get into new projects. I looked hard at the larger kx 91, but just couldn't justify the bigger size and price. View attachment 447558

Congraats on the mini. I echo the sentiments of several, in that you can do wayyyyy more than a tractor mounted backhoe.......I have both and there's no comparison. Have fun!!

Stumps, of course. Already bought a ripper tooth for that. And mostly trail cutting on our 80 acres. Probably dig a pond, grade out for a pole barn, and have fun...

Nice. Those are something a backhoe is not very good at.
