New Holland 2120
My first winter with New Holland 1995 2120, 1900 hours. Manual says full throttle to start, but only starts at all the way back. Low oil light stays on. I started a few times, and let run 20 seconds, barely running.

Plugged it in, same thing. Turn key back the glow plug light does mit come on. Does when going forward.

If I let it warm up will light go out? Barely idles
But at higher throttle will not start. Cranking up after started doesn't seem to help.

Just starting to get cold, around 20 degrees. Ran last week 30s degrees.

Thanks for help.

The low oil light not turning off, is what really makes me nervous

Are you running the correct weight oil? I would really consider adding an automobile aftermarket oil pressure guage. My new holland does not have a guage but all my massey ferguson tractors do. Never had a oil light come on with my new holland in 10 years.

I am still running the oil from last owner. Which I know is bad cause you don't know. But I have not had it very long.

I like the idea of a gauge.

Heater trips gfi. So plugged in regular outlet last night. No idea if working. Got it 25 yards to barn. Oil light on hole way barely running. Got torpedo heater underneath now.

I an not sure if I just need to let it warm up longer, but afraid to do it with light on. 2 weeks ago 30s drove it no problem. Now 17 degrees

Should have at least 15-20 psi at idle. Oil pressure should be highest when engine is cold as the oil will be thicker. The sensor could be bad and it's an easy change and cheap

If you start it after the torpedo heater warms it up and the oil light goes out then you are OK. 1st is to check the oil level if you haven't done so then, since you are still running the oil the previous owner put in, I'd change the oil and filters to a 0W-30 or 5W-30. No telling what the previous owner used. Might want to change the hydraulic fluid and filters also and put some anti gel additive in the fuel too. Have extra fuel filters on hand. I run synthetic oil but not a necessity to do so.

Light went out after starting with kerosene heater. I noticed the hand throttle wasn't doing anything. Foot throttle was. Some throttle and it started running better. I had to take the roll bar off so I could get in my pole barn. Then put heater farther back, and freed up hand throttle.

I wonder if the engine heater is working. It tripped GFI. I will clamp it for amps next time. Tractor is at camp. I want to move snow with it.

Be interesting to see if GFI in barn trips, brand new, and dry cord. Hopefully will get a warm day to melt the left over snow and ice off it.
Oil level was good.

As george said I would change to a thinner oil
