Reeltime
When I went to purchase mine it was loaded up on the trailer and ready for my truck to hook to it... "Bought the whole kit-and-caboodle; trailer included".
I drove another one on the lot to get acquainted with the controls before I left. Hopped in mine that was loaded to 'redistribute the load' on the trailer and - nothing....not even a click. Salesman made it right and pulled one from the tractor that I just demoed and installed on mine. Well it lasted 2 years, and it kicked the bucket as well. There was corrosion on the terminals as well. Winter and high compression engines will make a battery work hard; these batteries that come from the factory typically have low cranking amps to boot.
I didn't fuss too much because "if Mahindra was to skimp on quality, a battery is where I would want it"... Something destined to perish from age or use anyway. I sucked it up and bought a higher cranking amp battery from Napa and slobbed a ton of grease on the terminal ends, yes slobbed is the correct word; meaning that what little I had left on my fingers got wiped all over the top of the battery as if it were a rag.
A 'little grease' does not go a long way in preventing corrosion, but a Lot of grease will prevent any corrosion. I encapsulate every battery terminal with a ton of wheel bearing grease on all my vehicles as well. Stuff works like a charm!
