Ron,
Fall for you. It was cold in the hangar last night. One bay's doors were open all night.
hugs, Brandi

Still nice weather for a afternoon walk in the sun.
Brandi, I would be cold working in a hangar with the doors open.

Is that from too much greens?

My Dad had a death in his heard also last week, my mom blamed it on acorns, I blame it on old age. Maybe grass tetany?

Grass tetany, or grass staggers, is a nutritional disease that cattle get from grasses high in water content and potassium and low in other nutrients, such as magnesium and calcium.

The thing is the pasture she is in doesn't have much green, mostly eating hay and we keep Hi-Mag mineral out 24-7. Just all the rain and cloudy days, putting protein tubs with high mag in them out now,try keep anymore to get it.

Could been txdon, what I can explain is she got down and her back legs didn't work like a nerve problem the back legs we're locked backwards at the hoofs. Front was working at first and she would try get up but then got to where she couldn't hardly do anything. This all happened over night and doc said if we wouldn't have caught it she wouldn't have made it.
I have had cattle eat acorns, haven't had any die but I have heard it will kill one if to much, don't know what the symptoms are. We have to lock them out those pastures with a lot of acorns and there has been a lot this year.

Wow it is wet here. This weekend we got 6" very heavy rain. Then add in some Tornadoes touching the ground-- one south of us did some damage in Lindale and then the storm came right over us with torrential rainfall and then touched down again in Winnsboro and Mt Vernon. Isn't it the wrong time of the year for this kind of weather?

Water water EVERYWHERE! Coming back from Church the culverts were all full and there were huge lakes in Pastures that I had never noticed before. Sunday morning before Church I poured out 5 1/4 in. of the rain gauge. Sunday afternoon when the rain finally stopped another 3/4 of an inch. Hope we get a little time to dry out.

This round had the bulk of the weather going east of us, so I only got about .78" this time.

We got over 5" here in Colorado County. 5" in two rain gauges but, most of the rain was going sideways with the big wind. Pastures were still squishy from last rains so, tractors will be parked a bit longer.

Rick--Squishy is the word. Anywhere you walk it's like stepping on a huge sponge.

Yep, Charlie. I drove the Polaris Ranger to the back of one of our pastures and the tire tracks were filled with water as I returned. That was before all the rain over the weekend.

2 5/8ths inches of rain over the weekend. Tornadoes hit about 5 miles from me. Ripped up Mueller Metal's building. Hit the Fish Pond Restrauant and RV Park. Numerous RVers out of a home.

How did the Mueller building hold up? If it survived the twister that would be great advertising.

Uh........the end of their warehouse building was totaled. About 30 feet on the end. Up to 135 mph winds. Looked like the wind took off the roll up door and then blew the end of the building out.

Finally got a little Winter feeling this morning, it's 31* and damp with all the rain we've had, and a lite wind out of the North. Should warm quickly once the sun gets up. Hope the mud has dried enough to get the tractor out today for some odd jobs after I grease it.
