Update -- it's been 2 weeks since this happened. They tooknow the stitches out a couple days ago. The doctor said it is healing nicely. There is still no feeling north of the cut but he said it will likely gradually return but not totally to the tip. No more medical followup is necessary.

All in all, not a bad outcome.

Stay safety aware!

It looks a lot better:thumbsup: Sometimes nerves take 8 or 9 months to come back. It may always always be a little cold sensitive or something but I bet it will regenerate to a degree in the future. Stay away from the saw blades and hammers for a bit...:D

As k0ua stated...nerve endings take time.

I cut my pointer finger between the 1st and 2nd joint 40 years ago and it still gets cold and is slightly numb. Over time it slowly did get better though.

I have my regular contractor saw out of the way while we work on the heating system in the basement, so I've been using one of those little lightweight portable things. It does an OK job, but I really like the zero clearance insert and Biesemeyer fence on my "main" machine. This little thing scares me, which I suppose is good if it keeps me alert.

You can bet I have the push shoe out, hook my fingers over the fence to keep them from drifting, all of that.

Thank you for the reminder to be alert.

Every time I have gotten hurt, I was too tired and "pushing it" to get just one more thing done. Last one was a couple of ribs this spring working on my porch, stepped where I didn't have floor yet.

If there's any one thing that contributes more than anything else to getting hurt I think it's got to be this.

Agree, every time I have gotten hurt, was because I was "just trying to finish up" when I was tired.
