Face gear for plowing/blowing without a cab?

When I blew with the walk behind I wore a balaclava. Only my eyes were visible from the front and glasses protected them.

I use Army surplus artic face cover. it has replaceable mouth cover to keep the moister at bay. Cheap, comfortable and good to 40 below in the wind.

My black duck Carhart artic weight jacket and a polypropylene scarf works for me.

It was mighty nippy out plowing tonight & it feels like I got some wind burn. I may end up trading my L3200 in at some point down the road for something with a cab, but in the mean time I need to protect my face a bit better. Have a good set of boots, ski pants, coat, hat & gloves that keep the rest of me warm. What do you guys use to protect your face & head from the cold & snow? Ski goggles?

Fleece winter hat, ski goggles, balaclava, hood from sweatshirt works here when it is -20F and the wind is howling. The tip of my nose is usually exposed to help prevent the goggles from fogging. My fingers and toes will get cold first.

For blowing with an open station tractor a snowmobile helmet with a full face shield is the warmest/driest method I found. Still looking forward to a heated cab this winter, if winter shows up.

Before i got my cab i would just squint a lot and have a shot of brandy.

I sure squinted when that frozen branch broke a hard contact lense accross my eye ball!

At one point I used a snow mobile helmet with a heated visor. It worked well.

I'd try a paintball anti fog face shield first. It's a cheaper alternative to the helmets and if it works, no need to spend the extra cash for the full helmets.
