How do you like your 3pt. grapple? Being cheap, I built one (roughly) off their idea, only I added a hyd. winch to it. Of course I'm prolly up at around $5k in steel & components, hose and valves now, not including my time. I don't have a ton of use on it yet, but every time I do, it reinforces my original thinking that it's what I wanted for my property & firewood making.

I like it a lot. I use it on the 3032e. Just can't beat backing up to a log and grabbing it without getting off the seat. I'll use it over anything else when I can.

Those type conditions makes twice the work.
Some back dragging main runs wait until ground tighten up...maybe second weekend Jan 2016 by the looks of long range.

At least twice the work. Had to look at what I got done over the weekend (about 1/2 cord). Fairly disappointing. I wish I could wait. I was trying to get 2 cord delivered each weekend and I'm falling way short every week. Supposed to be more rain tonight and I'll be out there with the lights on.

Yikes - Nice mud you got there Daves3032E. Even nicer equipment. Love that trailer !!! Does it have hydraulic drive on the wheels or rear wheel steering like some ??

It's not froze here either but not too muddy if I wait a day or two after rain.

No, the wheels don't drive and the wheels don't steer. There was an option for a hydraulic articulating drawbar, but I didn't think I really needed that - it can be added anytime if I wanted though. I use it behind my truck as well (registered for highway use).

Now I like it even better. What does the GVW tag on that give for a weight. Wired for lights and/or brakes ??

Yes, wired with electric brakes and lights. The paperwork I have for it lists the GVWR as 15,399 lbs. I believe the empty weight is around 2,400 lbs. The coupler is 14K on it though, so that's what I registered it for.

A trailer acting as a forwarder really shrinks up a wood lot. Normally, I wouldn't skid more than a quarter mile with a utility size tractor. Turns take just too long dragging 2 and at the most 3 good size stems. A forwarder is like making 5 turns at once. Very nice equipment and good you got it almost all at once. Unlike myself where I procrastinated long enough to not make it cost effective to get anything at this point. 37 years of doing it the Fred Flintstone way with maybe 5 yrs worth of wood off the property left. To top it all off, I logged professionally so you'd think I'd know better.

That is pretty sweet. How much can the boom lift?

nice because you can load up, haul it out of the woods with your tractor, hook it to your truck then take it to the customer. No unloading and reloading. That is the way my trailer is too but I have no grapple just a crane with a winch. Nice set up and sorry to see you are in such a mess with the mud.
