Pretty sure Walmart would take it back (if you were the kind of scammer who would do that)... Aaron Z

Needed to exchange a pair of jeans at Walmart the other day (wrong size). The guy in front of me is holding 3 pizzas he got precooked from the deli. Get to the register and wants to return them. The crust is doughy. They are also half eaten. He eat 1/2 of all 3 pizzas before figuring out they weren't fully cooked. Brought them back and got 3 new whole pizzas. That he had to wait on to be cooked. You know he was money ahead.

I could never do that. Just not in me to be that kind of person (and I would have just warmed up the oven and thrown the pizza in)...

Totally agree. I'd either found something else or finished cooking them. Nobody standing in line could believe he did that. Oh the conversations that started after he left.

I used to live in New England where fish was a way of life. A friend of mine worked in a supermarket and said some guy brought back a half eaten fish and wanted double his money back, which was store policy for bad food. The guy said the fish didn't taste right even though he had eaten half of the 10 lb fish.

Guy was a known welfare scammer but he had to give him the $$. Guy bought another fish and had all the $$ he started with. I presume he left the store with a smile.

Well, I stand corrected on US return policy. I could see it for defective manufactured products with a warranty... but the abuse you're describing is amazing!

Regarding toasters: perhaps the problem is the electrical power supply? As I've stated, my 4-slice toaster (with crumpet function) works flawlessly, as long as I've set the little knob to the correct consistency. Australia runs 230V 50Hz 1phase. Perhaps you need some sort of power converter/booster to get the best performance out of your toaster?

230V?, does that mean you have 2 hot wires and one ground to run a toaster, I have 110V

Yep, mine are set for control panel only.

Now when I click "My Home" at the top of the page, I can right click or hold "Control" and click, then read the new post in a new Tab.
