Tractor
Mahindra 4530
The Mahindra 4530 package deal got delivered today. I off loaded the tractor and bush hog and it seems like the right rear brake is sticking a little. It makes a popping sound after I let off the brakes and the tractor starts to move. Is this normal? I also noticed that it's leaving a track in the wet ground when moving forward. The left one does not.

Nice tractor!! I have the same one and it's very interesting that my right brake does the same thing. I was waiting until the 50 hr service to have the dealer check it out.

Do Mahindra dealers service and inspect tractors before delivery? Sounds like it wasn't done. Call them out and have them check it. It's not right getting a new tractor with problems. And don't fall for the "it's just stiff when new" BS. Have them fix it or return the tractor.

Not sure what you mean by leaving a track. ??? Perhaps the tire is low or the other has too much air. I run my tires at full contact (checked on a hard surface) which is lower than what is suggested in the manuals.

I went last Friday afternoon and test drove a few tractors. This particular one was one they had used on the lot to move things around. It had six hours on it. I didn't notice it making the braking noise when I test drove it. I went back Saturday to sign the paperwork and they had it pulled in the shop and said they were going over it to make sure everything was squared away on it before delivering it. One thing they were going to do was move the rear wheels out the final two inches to give it a wider stance. The dealer called me yesterday and said they had to move the tires back in one inch to make it fit on the trailer. They promised me a full tank of fuel and I noticed when I drove it this afternoon that it was not topped off. Had just under a half tank. The delivery man was nice enough, but when I asked him if they had any paperwork for me to sign, he said they didn't give him anything. I asked him if there were any manuals with the tractor and he said yes, but they were at the dealership and I could call and have them put them in the mail. I asked for the key and he went and looked in the tractor and there wasn't a key, so he gave me one off his key ring.

It's almost as if once I signed the paperwork on Saturday for the purchase, they just wanted to hurry and get the tractor delivered. I'm going to touch base with them tomorrow and find out where the manuals are, where the keys are, and why the tank wasn't topped off like they promised.

What I mean by leaving a track is it tears the ground up and leaves a tire mark on the right side, but not on the right side. I'm not sure what it's doing that.

Nice toy! Congrats!
Hope they didn't trailer it with the brush hog up like that!

They did. I could have used a trailer a couple of feet longer. The bush hog won't go down all the way because of the ramps.

Maybe I'm wrong but that seems like a bad idea.

Congrads, nice tractor. sounds like that dealer needs a bit of a kick in the rear!

Are the brakes locked together currently, and also, is the parking brake on? Sorry for asking obvious questions, but that's what I'd check first.
