Buying Advice Next tractor advice

I'm asking if it can actually lift 2,600 pounds. It doesn't matter how much the loader lifts if you can't keep the rear end on the ground.
1) the 2760lb rating is at pivot pins to full height. Not a real world number.

2) with the backhoe mounted, I was able to lift a granite boulder that by dimension measurement must have weighed between 2000-2400lbs. I could lift it three feet in front of pivot pins in a grapple to a height of about three feet. I wasn't dumb enough to lift it higher. I then moved it 50 feet and the rear end felt light but I had traction.

3) I haven't seen anyone else on TBN lift a bigger rock. I'll post photo later.

Ohhh, #3 sounds like a challenge! I bumped my pressure relief valve and put on the forks for some that should push you pretty good. (ps I don't actually care who's lifts more I just care that mine lifts alot and I'm happy your does too!)

This got out of hand quickly. I deleted all of my off topic post. You guys please do the same. I apologize to the op for severely hijacking his thread.

This is TBN. We get off topic all the time. Lots of interesting stuff comes out of off topic discussions so I for one don't like post hoc editing/deleting posts. The getting snippy part is no loss but practical discussion of (and even seeking bragging rights) loader capabilities is perfectly in line with giving tractor advice IMO.

In that positive vein, here is a photo of the rock I pulled out of the ground. It was sticking out about four inches or so I I kept hitting it with my flail so I decided to grab it. I had no idea how big it would turn out to be. The grapple hooked on just with one tine on top and that tine got splayed out if that is any indication of how heavy the rock was. The grapple held though and I literally just lifted the rock out of the ground (sandy soil). At the time someone asked me to measure it to calculate the weight. I forget the actual measurements but I recall the length was about 42" in the longest dimension. Again, just going from memory, based on the density of granite, it weight something north of 2000lbs and south of 2500lbs. I don't think I could have lifted it without the BH as ballast. Even then the rear felt very light as I moved it.

The stump in the other set of photos is an oak and is about the heaviest stump I ever lifted. I couldn't lift it out of the hole with the loader but could with the BH. I then was able to lift it with the loader and carry it about 150 feet. Max'd out pretty much.

So, these are the practical real world limits of loader on my DK40se/BH. Not trying to out do anyone just showing what a 40hp tractor with 2760lb lift rating (pivot pins to full height) can do.

That's a big stump.

Oak too. I had to shake dirt out of it in order to lift it.
Ok, it never looks as big in pictures (that's what she said) but this one was about all she could handle!

Impressive. Did you dig those out or find them on the surface?

Those were mostly burried but I have them everywhere! Everywhere.

The rocks in the background came just from clearing the surface to be mowable in the area you can see.
