Pulling trailer with dozer

LOL, I was once requested to haul a loaded trailer with my dozer on a roadway in progress.
It was a large hay wagon type with a prefab cottage loaded on it.
Well the dozer had no trouble it simply plodded along to the site but when we arrived the wagon had lost all its tires and rolled on the rims.
Since i was doing a favor after much urging (and cautioned the risks) I merely shrugged my shoulders, un hitched and went back to dozing.

Reckon the pintle would be ok but I think the comments here speak well. Not all pintle hitches are created equal. If your present tongue on the trailer is solid mount, I would suggest cutting it off. Weld a flat plate with holes on it. Then the flat plate can be the mount for either a pintle on flat plate, or your ball on a flat plate, making it convertible. The trailer even with a load will pull like a dixie cup in a stream behind your cat. Grousers are way unforgiving and there is a lot to backing a combination like this up, easy once you get the hang of it, but you wanna get the hang of it without screwing up your trailer, tongue and connection point. I am sure you have local sources for this stuff put I will put up a link of a local outfit, for me, that has a great catalog that might help you out with the visuals.Coyote Steel & Co. | Eugene, Oregon

I am sure most the readers on this board will like this link to their catalog. On their website, some stuff is a little strange on different browsers, but they offer really swell tables, descriptions and drawings and applications. enjoy. CoyoteSteel is in Eugene Oregon

You guys sure like to complicate thinks!

NONE of my trailers know if it's a truck, tractor or dozer in front of them...

Buy the PROPER ball, install it on the dozer draw bar, and pull the trailer!

Great help here -- thank you all.

Anyone know of a dump trailer whose sides come down so I can drive 3 ATVs up on to it from the side (about 85" long by 55" wide") that will also haul gravel/dirt/wood through the woods?

Cam Superline makes a 3 way dump that would work, but it's a little bigger than you are asking about.
not sure who makes a similar one smaller.

Actually, I just discovered they don't come any longer than 10' which is not enough for 3 ATVs.

I've been looking around and can't find a 14' dump with removable or folding down sides.

Anyone?
