Tractor
Deere 5085e, 3320
So, I just received me new 2013 5085e (it was NOS) with cab. Have always had an open station tractor with normal transmission, there is a lot to get used to, especially that power reverser! :)

One thing I'm finding a little awkward to get used to is having to go around to get into the cab to make adjustments to the loader controls or 3pt hitch arms when attaching implements. I was looking at the cab and it really looks like you could add hinges to the RH door to open it up to access the controls easier. I see in the parts catalog that the RH door parts are available. Anyone on here ever convert their RH door to open? Just curious.

Also, I put mounts on it for my 553 loader that I already had. The arms travel up and down really well, and the tilt down works great, but the tilt up is really slow. Any thoughts on what the issue could be? Only thing I could think of was maybe air in the hydraulic line? IF so, how would i get it out.

Thanks,
Scott

Likely is not air, as air gets pushed out real quick. May try disconnecting the quick couplers and reconnecting them. Sometimes they don't seat well... just a thought.
And tilt down is faster than tilt up, with that regenerative circuit for fast dumping.

You can get a RH door kit from JD. The hyrdraulics on the 5E's are very slow, compared to other modern tractors.

I would think 15.9 GPM @ 2828 psi wouldn't be real slow.

Maybe it is the seal on the couplers. FYI, is it noisier when I tilt up, so that is what gave me the thought nothing is going on. The arms going up and down are real quick though, so that makes me think something else is going on.

Also, the top bend in the vertical exhaust sure seems right in the field of view. Seems like it should be higher for the cab model. Anyone put a corner exhaust on theirs? Thinking about that upgrade as well.

Thanks,
Scott

I noticed a huge difference going from the 15.9 gpm with my Deere to 29 gpm with my MF. The Deere was loader was VERY slow and weak compared to my Massey.

Apples and Oranges comparison. Double up the purchase price will buy some extras...

Find or make up an oil pressure gauge that you can snap into a quick coupler and check your oil pressure.

lol, surprisingly there wasn't much of a difference in purchase price between a JD 5100E and a MF 5612. If I didn't get a deluxe model with suspension and moved down to 100 or 110hp the price would have been about the same. It is an apples to oranges comparison, when you compare specs that's for sure.
