NO, don't go there. You will end up spending way out of your budget to get one. The Grand L is IMO the one of the best tractors in the 35 to 50HP range. Note I didn't say for the money, I think they are overpriced. But the 6 range HST, cruise, electronics, and capabilities are impressive. If I had the money, I'd get one. But I was scared off by the 30K+ price for an OOS loader L3560 that was quoted at me. For that I could get a fully loaded CK35 TLB Cab HST. Although a used LXX40 might be worth a look.

Yah, don't go there if your budget is low, but that used one seemed pretty reasonable for what looked like a well-equipped (big SSQA loader), cherry low hours tractor. I really wish I had the auto-throttle on our L, and I miss the complete instrumentation that the Grand Ls have, like actual PTO rpms, road speed, oil pressure and coolant temp. Not familiar in particular with the L3240, but I'm sure that it wouldn't disappoint. Heck, if Texas wasn't so far away, and it had rear remotes, I'd be interested!

Problem is that L3240 has the LA524 loader, which isn't particularly strong. If one steps up to the L3540 you have the option of getting the LA724 loader which is way stronger than the 524

My mistake... I thought the 724 was only available on the L3540 and L3940.

I have a Grand L3240. It has a 6 range HST transmission which is fantastic. The Grand L transmission is far superior to the standard L or Kiotis that I have used. They have cruise control, auto throttle, pto speed readout, a tilting steering wheel, and about a dozen opinions on the digital gauge cluster. The 3 point hitch is much better than a standard L, and the 3 point hitch on this tractor is stronger than average. I have a LA724 with SSQA on mine.
