Few John Deere's and one Ford 3600 diesel.
Has anyone ever had a dealership call them twice a day, every day, for two whole weeks and REFUSE to come down on their asking price? What's the point? I've got to where I don't even answer their calls anymore because it's just a waste of time. Why do they keep calling? Their numbers don't match my numbers and we've hashed this out on 4 separate occasions now.

This is the Ford dealership I mentioned in another post that I stopped by to look at and test drive an F-250 set up like I want. We are $3000 apart in the final numbers, I was willing to come to $1500 IF they threw in a spray in bed liner and/or side steps. No dice they said, their price was the price. Fine, I left. They called back two days later and said they'd still do that price they quoted me (even though they said it was a today only price when I was in the office.lol). I have the ball in my court because I don't NEED a new truck but if the right deal and right truck comes along I'll jump on it. Right truck showed up, wrong deal, so I walked.

I don't get emotional with car shopping, I walk away in a heartbeat. I've never had a dealer be this aggressive and refuse to negotiate in the process. This is new for me. I thought I'd seen and heard it all when it came to car salesman.

If they won't negotiate down to your price just tell them to stop calling and they are wasting their time and yours by not budging.
A friend of mine bought an F250 last year. He had a similar dealer that called him a few times (not as many times as yours) but still wouldn't budge on price. He went to another dealer who was willing to sell for the lower price.

Well that's an easy one.. tell them you'll take it every day... "Gitt'r ready for me" and just not show up... Every time they call! :D

Give them your final price, and tell them to call you when they will accept it. When they call a few days later, tell them you were willing to pay that amount two days ago. Today, the most you will pay is $500 less.

Have you spoken to any other dealers? For some unknown reason, every time I go to buy a vehicle, I can't get my local dealers to come down on price, but if they are an hour away, it's no problem. I'll drive an hour for a couple grand every day. Even when I show the local dealer the quote, they wont budge. I sometimes think there is some sort of rule that they cannot come any lower for local buyers.

Counter with a lower price and tell them not to call you unless they accept your lower price. If it is within reason, they just might call near the end of the month when they need a few more sales to make their numbers.

Same thing for me. My last car I visited 4 local dealers who had it in stock, and none would accept my offer. I email 3 dealers in New Hampshire, 3-4 hours away, and all 3 accepted it. Took a nice day trip to New Hampshire and came home with a new car

Ease over to the Chevrolet dealership, they will probably be willing to make you a good deal on a new 2500 HD.

My wife used to work at a ford dealership in the finance. The last week of the month is intense pressure to make quotas.
Also tell them you are driving over to "such and such" Saturday. They said they'd work with you. The price will come tumbling down to save the sale.

Watch the deal/paperwork closely though.
After you are in the door and the agreement is made it is "mistaken" about what you agreed on and assumptions are made.

Local Toyota dealership told us it was true at the end of the month thy will even loss money at a vehicle or two to get to a bonus on ALL sold. Hawkeye and lenny hit is right close. But as others have said I have found hour away dealerships seem to deal better most often. Not always but.

You know doing a test drive of the Chevy to the Ford dealership might move them. Do take pictures..lol
