I probably eat there an average of once a week. If you can cook the pork - here's a "dip" recipe for you :Cool, a long long time ago I lived in Lexington when I was a kid. On Knob Hill the corner of Buena Vista and Westdale. Just above where Lexington BBQ is today. I sure do wish I had some now. Can't get real BBQ out here so I have to make it myself. You're lucky to have it whenever you get hungry for it.
Lexington BBQ "dip"
2 quarts white vinegar
64 ounces of ketchup
1 tablespoon ground red pepper
2 tablespoons crushed red pepper
1 tablespoon black pepper
1 tablespoon salt
10 ounces sugar
Place all ingredients in pot on stove and bring to a boil
This for restaurant quantity - cut as required.
- thin to desired consistency with water. Let cool and refrigerate. It keeps probably at least a couple months.
