Around here, you can do better by walking the freeways and collecting the aluminum wheels and trim parts from crashes as well as going around subdivisions on trash day and picking up the discarded stainless steel barbeque grills.

Ok, here is some math.

13,469 cans /12 = 1,122 12 packs @ roughly $8.99 ea. equals $10,090.53.

So, get your friends to buy and drink the beer and give you the empties. Problem solved.

Well you folks are right.
Can weights 15 grams & on the pound side scale says .6 OZ.

Maybe if I live to be 160 years old, it will work out.

What ya think
Jim

Maybe we need to pool our resources. You guys mail me all your cans and I'll collect them until I have the $2000 that Jim needs, then I'll contact him and see if he still wants the new truck.

You're going about this all wrong. Here in Michigan, the deposit on a can (beer or soft drinks) is 10 cents. Come up here and do what the locals do, steal the cans from people before they return them. You only need 20,000 that way.

Since the first step to recovery is recognition of a problem, I'll make a confession.

Helo, my name is Richard, I am a collector of Aluminum Busch Light cans. I currently have twelve 30 gallon trash bags full of crushed Busch Light cans. I pledge to take my cans to the recycling site and sell them soon......

Using KennyG's logic is better. Even at .05 cents per can you'd only need 40,000 cans to come up with 2K.
I guess I got my decimal points in the wrong place converting to the foreign metric system.

Actually Kenny's logic is flawed. For example, I can buy a 30 pack of Busch Light cans for $19.85 here in Missouri. Iowa has a can return price of .05. Iowans flock across the border to Missouri to buy Beer and Cigarettes to avoid things like extreme high tobacco tax and inflated product cost to offset the can return price. So for Kenny's philosophy to work he has to handle the cans and drive them back to the store to get his refund,,,,, which then puts his purchase price of the product down to a similar level that I pay. And I still have my cans to sell. :)
