I'm not certain but I think my wife freezes things like meat first and then wraps it. If anyone wants, I'll ask her later. She is the queen bee of using this thing and packs everything that can be packed. She doesn't leave it on the counter but in the cabinet below.

Yesterday we had long ago frozen blueberries that I know she froze first on a tray and then packed. In blueberry pancakes, they tasted perfect. She packs sliced and pre-frozen peaches off our tree and after a year in the freezer you would never know it. Nuts store especially well with these.

I've found that resealing bags of potato and corn chips keeps them fresher.

I have the Mason jar attachment and the brown container and large spaghetti holder too. Jars are good for candies and snacks that you use often. You can get a lot in the half gallon Jars.

You can also seal up a change of clothes in a tiny package and keep in your trunk or whatever for just in case. Amazing how flat they will compress. You can put a few 20s$ in there for emergencies as well.

Just thought of something - you could probably pack up dry welding rods out of the oven and keep them indefinitely. Maybe ten rods to a pack. Toss em in the welding box for future use.

Good idea. Wife never thought of that but she's going to try it soon. The uses and advantages of these things are endless. Anything wet, like meat gets frozen first. Sweet corn from the garden is cooked, sliced off the cob, frozen and then packed. A year later it's good as new.

The one I bought at Walmart is the FoodSaver Brand and it has a 5 year warranty.

Ours is 3 years old. I ordered it direct online and it came with a 30 day satisfaction guarantee or return for refund or credit minus the shipping charges. But the manual clearly states a One Year Limited Warranty. Of course we're long past that, but if I ever have to buy another one, I'll have to check their warranty. Ours included the quick marinating "attachment" and I tried it once just to see if it worked and we've never used it since.

Woah! Your momma raised a genius! Welding rods that draw moisture are one of my pet peeves. Even if I had to cut a long bag, it would be worth it.

You can easily make 6 bags lengthwise and even put some of those moisture crystals in there if you save them. (I always eat mine).
