After seeing a few threads about mounting bolts coming loose and blaming the dealer I thought I'd chime in and remind/point out there is a service interval for retorquing mounting hardware. It is in the operators manuals. look close. It can be hard to find. I highlight the manuals for my customers. Interval is usually every 10 to 20 hours for the first 100 hours. Then every 100 hours or so after that. I suggest not using loctite. The bolts are not coming loose, they are stretching. I do many first 50 hour services. I always find a few mounting bolts loose. The units that come to me for follow up service I've found that after the 2nd or 3rd service/retorquing, the bolts have stretched to there max and are not coming loose. Basically, check the hardware as specified. Check more often if your a heavy use owner.

Yes, just finished the 20 hr. check. No loose bolts. I did find a couple at the 10hr. No leaks, no runs no errors. Absolutlely love the Max 26XL.

Thanks for the warning...I admittedly skipped that step at my 50 hour service on my max 28...usually try to read between the lines on some of these things and dismissed that as overkill. This being my first real tractor I will go over the tractor with my torque wrench this weekend before use and see what I find...120 hours on my max 28 so far and besides the solenoid failure which was warrantied I'm happy with it. Only thing I would change is the seat if you're not careful and swivel anywhere but the mid position it's fairly easy to get it in a bind and out come the snap ring pliers

Did Mahindra stop using the "warning decals"? I have them plastered on several spots on my 3016 about this. They also mention about tightening engine bolts as well.

Good point arrow! :salute: I should have mentioned checking the engine mounting bolts. I have never had issue with them coming loose. I've never seen or should I say noticed warning decals for checking hardware.

I had a couple that I could get a little umpf into and turn them a tad on the 50 hour, they were all OK at 100. The big thing was getting a bigger assortment of big metric wrenches that I could use to get to the big bolts. The ones I could get a socket on I used a torque wrench... But after that, if was all ' farmer torque ' [ approximating the umpf you put on a real torque wrench ] with the various wrenches.. to make sure they were tight.

Not FEL or BH related but I checked the lugs on the wheels for torque spec according to the manual and were fine at 20 hours on the clock. This weekend I'm going to do the FEL and the engine mounts. I'll report back how it all checks out.

I've almost been worried about mine. I've not found one loose bolt in the entire machine, even after about 300 hours. I have had some hydraulic fittings that needed a little extra to stop some drips. I too had to go get larger sockets and wrenches to fit everything and haven't been able to turn anything any at all...

I don't believe all Mahindra suppliers use the decals. We made that loader and use them on pretty much everything. It's amazing how many people try to turn in warranty claims for damage done by loose bolts.
