Can't someone program a spam filter?

It seems very simple to make it such that members must have 3 posts before they can add links...

Or more like 50. If they made it where we could upload videos directly to the site there would be very little need for links.

I'd guess that whoever wrote the script is a former employee of v Bulletin...
Without more information I imagine the script that posts the spam does not even use typical registration forms etc...(again, without knowing more) the spam script could be posting directly to the database...and not even accessing the "forum" process...

Just for the record...I'm likely much older than the word "nerd"...and actually troubleshooting application software (especially as simple as PHP/SQL) is not that much different than troubleshooting mechanical etc. issues...

Honestly I think the spamming script is accessing the DB directly...if interested research "SQL injection"...
