I bought a flail mower early this year through Alibaba. Biggest problem I had was paying with a VISA card. Alibaba accepted the VISA at time of order but didn't get the word out to everybody at Alibaba, I finally got it straitened out and they said it would not happen again as they were just changing over to accept VISA instead of a bank transfer. I now trust the mower manufacture enough to buy direct from them. As far as freight cost, it was more expensive to ship the mower from Tacoma to my house (50 miles) than it was to ship from China to the port of Tacoma. I believe I would have been better off had I talked to a freight broker in advance instead of trying to handle everything myself.

Larjea, would it have been possible to pick up the mower in person in Tacoma instead of shipping it to your door? Is that type of thing allowed?

Mind me asking what the shipping for it was from China to Tacoma?

Also, is there any chance of something with no emissions, like a backhoe, getting rejected at customs? What are the odds that a deal for something like a 3pt backhoe would go south?

Is there any resource to know which sellers on alibaba are reputable?

Since I am in no hurry for anything I'm looking for, it is tempting. However, I'm obviously not interested in flat out losing my money. Seems like there is some protection there if a major credit card is used?
