I've got a 2014 F250 Super Cab. Really like the truck, but as stated elsewhere it has a stiff ride. Crazy as it sounds, when I ditched the Firestone Destination ATs and went with BFG All Terrain KO2 the ride did soften up just a bit.

The harsh ride is likely from running the tires at full rated pressure. Also, going with twenty inch rims and E rated tires is not going to be pleasant ever.

I wondered if this was the case on the ram. I did read a suggestion once that you should bring along a pressure gauge when test driving trucks to compare ride and comfort. Then air all the different trucks down to the same pressure. The Ram I drove had the 18" rims, yet the one in the inventory that I would like to buy if I chose Ram had the 20's.

You should price 20" tires...

yeah, I don't want the 20" tires but it is the only one we can find that is an slt with cloth seats and the Aisin transmission.

I bought a new 3500 SRW Ram and the ride was brutal. When I got home I discovered 83 PSI the tires and since the truck was empty, they had no give. Second, the stock rear shocks are very stiff. So I put a set of Bilsteins on the rear and lowered the pressure to about 45 PSI.

What a huge improvement! It went from unacceptable and seriously harsh to just stiff. Now, with a camper shell, a few tools and a bed liner, it's just fine.

If you could accept a 2500, the Ram has a very nice coil suspension.

In my case, I wanted a Cummins and that was way more important than selecting by ride quality, but now it is MUCH better with a couple of simple changes.

My 2016 GMC 3500 dually rides much smoother than my 2015 F-250 did. I liked it so much I traded our other work truck which was a 2015 F-250 for a 2016 GMC 2500. Recently drove it from Texas panhandle to Miami Florida and back and it is a comfortable truck.

As nice as my friend's 2015 F-250 Platinum is, I'm seeing a trend here.

Just like recliners, beds, and such, it is hard to really test a truck out with just a demo ride.

I am not trying to turn this into a brand war as I have had all brands but the fords do ride like tanks. They are built like tanks too they amaze me how well they hold up when worked hard. I have not broken anything on the GMC's yet but my gut feel is they are not as strong as the fords when used hard off road. We changed up our way of doing things and have UTV's now for bouncing around the pasture and the trucks just get us there so I think the GMC's will be fine. They sure ride nicer on the highway. I really like dodges as well but don't like our like dodge dealer at all.

Quite honestly all three are good and you can't really go wrong with any of them. There are minor strengths and weaknesses of each one but it really boils down to which one you feel comfortable driving and which dealer gives you good support.
