No hydraulic spin on filter on the 2610 unless someone added one.

Guys, is there an online reference as to fluid capacities, parts, service manuals and the such without actually buying the books? I need to find out what points (drain plugs) to open and drain the hydraulic oil sufficiently. I think I found the plate with three screws for the screen right by the PTO. I'm ready to pull the trigger and start this.

No online reference other than googling. Should be a plug bottom of transmission, another bottom of drop box and maybe one on each axle. Unsure of that.

I saw a 3/4" bolt from what I assume is a drain.....not sure how to explain to you it's orientation to you other than it is in the upper corner (sitting in your seat, your left front) of bottom portion of transmission. Then I found one at each end of drive train. That makes three I found so for.

And the best way to describe things is to post pictures.

Next to the PTO output shaft is a three bolt pattern cover cap. You will need a bucket over 8-quarts to hold any draining fluid. The filter is about 11-inches or so long. It comes out like a cylinder tube. The filter membrane is olefin type that only allows one direction flow. Thus, if it only needs to be cleaned with brake cleaner, spray the outside to soak it, let gravity pull it down to a bucket and with a tooth brush in hand lightly scrub it. Use a soft bristle type of tooth brush. I would advice to wear neoprene kitchen gloves as this is very messy and slippery.

I've actually had great success with the SAE-30 like the owners manual states to use with the 3T80 Yanmar engine. The SAE-30 makes starting easier with less stress on the starter and the engine cranks over better. Even in the colder temps SAE-30 does well. Besides, the cost of SAE-30 is better than 15W40.

BTW, My oil level on the YM2610 is normal. When the tractor is in gear for the stick and the PowerShift is in neutral, there is a sound emitted. When the gear stick is in neutral and the PS is in any selection, the sound is not there. This is normal operation. The sound is just noticeable.

Thanks for the posting bmaverick. I did empty the case of hydraulic oil then remove the filter screen and cleaned ....there was not a speck of junk on that screen when removed....remarkable. Anyway I did use SAE-30...thank you for that info by the way. Also the noise I have mentioned happens when the clutch is up (not pressed down)..shift stick for the C,1,2,3,4 gears is in neutral (no gear selected)....shift selector to the right is in N.....I still hear as though gears are turning underneath my seat area of the transmission case. Now, "if I press the clutch" all the way down it will stop that noise. One other note, even if I have the shift lever in N,1,2,3 or R ....while the shift stick is in N, I still hear it. Has this something to do with the throw out bearing or clutch plate rubbing on something? I'm thinking it is just barely touching where it engages? Just a thought.

Everything you had stated above is the exact same thing my YM2610 behaves with the exception of the shift stick in N and still hearing it. When the clutch is fully pressed, the noise goes away too just as if the shift stick is in N.

Your model is 4WD. Mine is 2WD. Not sure if there is something different slightly about the same noise we hear and how it relates.

I'm guessing it is a normal thing then?
