I buy my cast from bear tooth bullets out in ID. I like the wide meplet the bullets have.

the 35's I made are also flat nose with wide meplat. Probably a 25 caliber meplat. nose is larger than a large primer.

Gas checked too.

That's about as good as its ever gonna get.
Yesterday I found .22 ammo at Walmart for $5 per 100 round box with limit of 3. I got 3. That is the first time I have found .22 ammo at Walmart in 4 years or more. Still about 2.5 times the cost from before the shortage but reasonable. Gun show last week most folks that were selling .22 wanting $15 for a box of 100.

Shelves still bear of 22 cal. 5 packs of 22 shot shells.

Recently driving home from a trip, I stopped at the new Cabela's in Charleston WV (my 5th Cabela's store to visit - 3 of the original size stores and this one was my 2nd new small format store to visit). They had lots of boxes of Federal Automatch for like $21. They had a more expensive box of bulk .22 (can't remember the brand) but no bulk Federal (like the 500 box) or anything else that was decent quality at a decent price. Picked up some powder and primers for OK prices too.

Got to the register and for some reason (I guess they had some special sale going on) they gave me Employee pricing plus military discount. Sweet! I scored with that one! Got a pair of hiking shoes that were around $80 or so and they ended up being around $50. Can't complain about that visit!

edit - oh, noticed that there was a Gander Mountain in the same shopping strip. The last Cabela's I went to (Bristol VA) has a Bass Pro shop the very next exit (Tennessee side). Must be nice!

It probably helps with keeping prices reined in a little too.

When we had a Home Depot and a Lowes in plazas across the street from each other, you had to shop carefully, but they each had various "loss leaders" designed to get you in their store to better seperate you from your money, but each had different ones.

Now that the Lowes has closed, HD has raised their prices significantly and pretty much across the board.
