If all you rural folks are so smart, how come you do so much Methamphetamine?

Most of the meth heads I know about are inner city thugs who have moved to a trailer house out in the boonies in order to set up and manufacture the stuff. Farmers have to guard their Anhydrous Ammonia else they steal it. Oklahoma passed a law limiting the amount of ephedrine (or whatever that stuff is) you could buy, and it prompted a lot of them to move out of state. I would like to see a comparison of Heroin and other drugs like Cocaine.

Blue is normally associated with the party that takes care of the people with government programs, while red is not.
Now lets look at the map of donor states vs recipient states - The red state ripoff:

... And I found a quote on that page that speaks directly to your blue/red comparison:

"In essence those in blue states are subsidizing those in red states. Both red and blue states appear to be acting politically in opposition to their economic interests. Blue states are voting for candidates who are likely to continue the policies of red state subsidization while red states are voting for candidates who profess a desire to reduce federal spending (and presumably red state subsidization)."

You know, this was a nice light hearted thread. There were several amusing stories. Then y'all had to go make it political. Can't you just have some fun and turn off CNN, FOX, etc for a couple minutes?

But he started it! (The blue/red comparison). :D I just added some factual data to clarify an expressed political opinion.

Really, the whole premise of this thread is lets make fun of city folks who don't know how to act in the country. But I agree, using this comparison to try to get in some political points belongs over on 'Friendly Politics'.

And as I cautioned someone recently who asked what's there: I would rather think of all my fellow TBN'ers as a group of friendly decent folks so I seldom look in 'Friendly Politics'. Lets maintain the sense of community here, and leave 'Friendly Politics' to those who wish to exchange political views.

You could say it to make fun of city folks but I see it more like the inverse of "You might be a redneck...".

Just entertainment.

Back to city people in the country - not quite on topic but close enough:

A supervisor of mine when I worked for the state highway department told of a camping trip where he was sleepy, unshaven, and sipping on a beer with his inlaws at 9 am around the firepit where they had cooked breakfast - When along came an immaculate RV with a big picture window in the side, with a couple of kids staring at him. Out of the RV emerged his boss and the bosses entire family, all with brand new Old Navy outdoor logo clothes and pristine white tennis shoes that had to be new or at least re-dyed daily. He said at that groggy moment he knew he would never get a promotion as long as he worked for that boss. :)

Context: the campers were all descended from the loggers who had originally made a living off that timber, this forest was home to them. Background of the boss who drove up was white-shoe real estate agent in the city and for his family 'camping' was looking out the RV picture window. Two different worlds.

When city folks stop and ask how far to the place there seeking, and you tell them oh about what crow fly's,get some mighty strange looks. ;)

When I lived in North FL we'd often use the "the old Winn Dixie". Then we'd realize that if you hadn't lived there for years you didn't know the old Winn Dixie
