Comparison Help Me Decide Narrowed Down to LS or Kioti

How high is a dumpster?
How often would you need to load a dump truck?
How high would any dump truck you might possibly purchase be?
How high would a dump trailer that you would use the savings to buy be?
Could you use the dump trailer to also haul the tractor if you wanted to?
Would it be affective using a high dump truck to haul the tractor?
Do you realize how much more cost effective it is to have a dump trailer opposed to a dump truck for most home use?
How often would you actually be loading a dump truck that you would find to be too high?
Have you actually measured the height of any smaller dump trucks?

As far as the AUTO - PTO is concerned its a feature I will probably never use and couldn't be concerned if it was there or not (over 2years with mine now and still haven't used it once). Its also a feature I never needed or wished I had on any of my other machines

PTO Switch placement isn't really a factor for me and I honestly cant see the placement of a simple on off switch being important unless it was somehow in a place where it could be easy to bump it accidentally For most I would assume it isn't a switch that is used nearly as hard as the loader joystick or a gearshift and would not even consider having to reach up to turn it on or off as a concern. Type and placement of other things would take my attention much more and the placement of the PTO switch would be last on my list if it was even a consideration at all.

I would think that if all you did was PTO implement work, that the location would be of some importance, other wise I agree with you, wouldn't make much difference.

I think you'll be very happy with either tractor. I also think you'll never regret having more HP or hydraulic power.
I'll bet there are many who wish they had to deal with the tough choice you have to make.
Let us know how it turns out. With pictures.

Well, you're talking about two of my favorite tractor brands here. Either way you get a good tractor. I went with LS because I got a great price, then used the savings to upgrade my mowers, which get a lot of use. I will admit though, that the lift height of the fel comes into play about 2 or 3 times a year when storing seldom used items on a rack in the barn

As for how tall the dumpster, dump truck etc. I don't know. I'm not buying or own any of these they will just be used at random while my house is being built and who knows later on. For pto work I would say my work would be an average amount.

rgr33, if you had the kioti would the height still be an issue? Specs only show it about a foot difference but looking at the pics in the link even though it's not a kioti you can see a pretty big difference in height.

No organization audits nor certifies the performance claims made by tractor manufacturers.

Further, some tractor manufactures promote FEL specs with the loader bucket, some without the bucket. It is difficult to figure out which does which.

Rather than make yourself crazy with this minutia, go with the dealer who you feel most in tune with and who has the best reputation for service. Should this dealer be within ten miles of where you expect to operate the tractor you are a lucky person and will be a happy operator.

That may be the case, however in this instance we actually have pics showing the loader height difference and it's pretty substantial. Whether it is 5k substantial and the other items I do not know. That's why I'm here. As for dealers, I feel comfortable with both so that is a wash.

You understand the comparison in post #26 that you refer to is between an LS and a Massey, right? The 4th picture that has 3 different tractors, the center tractor is a Kubota.

Yes but all their loader height spces are roughly 105" + which also what the kioti(108") is. I wasn't comparing it to the massey just showing what most others in this class of tractor are compared to the LS.

OK. This apparently is a big concern of yours, so as it seems to me, the LS should be removed from the list and you get the Kioti, all is well other than the cost is more. Stretched out over time, not that big of a deal.

Good luck with your decision.

Loader specs aside, are the dealers you are shopping worthy of your business?
