By your twisted logic, most drivers are morons?
If you'e ever directed traffic, you'd know most drivers are morons. The worst tsunami of stupid occurs when people operate a motor vehicle.
As far as roundabouts-terrible. We have three. One is by the high school. If you approach from the west, when school is getting out, you'll sit there for 10-15 minutes, unless you cut someone off. ALL the traffic is entering from the east and north. Stupid. At least with a stop light, you got a turn.
The second and third is a dog bone where a major US Interstate and US Highway interchange. It used to have two and three lanes through them. More semi-tractor-trailer combinations pass through than any other type of vehicle. If the tractor was in the right lane, the trailer would be in the left lane-no way to avoid that. When the double and triple bottoms went through, the tractor would have to be in the far right lane, and the rear trailer would have to be in the inside lane, or the grass, depending where it was.
We have wrecks there, all the time. So many, we get special studies done here, often. Generally, the wrecks involve a semi-tractor-trailer combination, on its side, or losing their load. Turns out, the dumbass engineers sloped the roundabout the wrong direction. Roundabouts should be sloped inward, from the outer edges of the circle, like a Nascar track's banking. Ours is sloped so the weight of the loads is cast outward. You think traffic sucks in a large roundabout normally, plug up the busiest part with a semi on its side and the load all over-five hours of completely stopped traffic.
Fun? Yes, roundabouts are fun. At least, they are, at night, when there's no one in them and the rules of physics are all you have to follow.
