I know that You allready have last weekend Halloween but here in Europe it is this weekend... made Halloween Special video.. 
I've got about half a dozen cherry trees with rootballs similar to that, but a lot deeper holes and less wide as yours. I've left the trees on them for now, but the plan for me is to use the FEL to fill in the holes before I cut them off so there's no place for them to tip back into. You can't do that so easily with your rocky terrain. Ours is all sand and gravel.
Sure were clean looking rocks under that tree when the roots took up all the soil. Very nice safety video.
I'm surprised that one didn't topple back on its own when the tree truck was cut off the roots. THAT can be another death trap.
Great work! Was it to tight to get to it with your big tractor?
If you had stacked a couple of pumpkins under your death trap before tipping it over....That could have been cool.
