Carlisle tires ??

In the trailer world Carlisle is junk. I've seen a new (on the dealer lot) SPARE fail on a warm day along with dozens of other failures. Ever notice how often you see trailer tire failures compared to regular OTR tires? Sounds like others have had some success with them on tractors. But, for me, based on how many family trips and other towing situations have been ruined by this brand I can't support them.
Another way to look at it- last tires lasted 20 years. At $500 that's $25/year.
If you go that way hopefully they work out. It would suck to have a failure in a location that required a mobile tire repair/replacement.

Be sure to check the tires you want, some (maybe not all) Carlisle tires are now Chinese!

Well, I bought them, price was right. Sure hope they aren't junk. Anything I bought was going to have to be shipped in anyway, see how these work out. They are rated exactly the same as the Titan tires I'm replacing. Also, made in USA. Thanks for the input,
Chris

I wouldn't buy Craptyle tires if you paid me. UTV/ATV/trailer tires, doesn't matter, have had them all. All have been junk crap.

Buy with great trepidation and/or stupidity.

Your choice.

How do you plan to mount them? You going to do it yourself or have a local shop do it?

Going to have to take them to a local tire shop in town, even then, 30 miles +.

Ok thanks I've heard of a few folks brave enough to change them themselves. Just trying to figure out what is involved from a non tire professional's perspective- I'm assuming someone who did it every day would say it's easy
Thanks again and I hope the tires treat you well! We need more quality products that say MADE IN THE USA!!

A lot of the hate here seems to be aimed at Carlisle trailer tires, which I know nothing about, but they make the OEM tires for a lot of tractors. My JD came with Carlisle R4s. After 6 years and 500+ hours, they show no significant wear. I did have to replace a front tire because of a sidewall puncture. However, that was my fault, sliding off a timber onto a sharp edge. When I look at the front tires, I have to look twice to see which one is original and which one is new.

I hope my R4 Carl's hold up but I have my doubts they will hold up like the R1 Goodyears I had on my ole Fergy. They were beat to heck when I got them and I used them for nearly 25 more years. I had to replace them because the side walls let go. The tread was still very serviceable. The replacements were an Indian brand.

Carlisle own Titan and Good Year brand ag tires. They have awesome customer service. Last year I noticed the sidewalls of all my Titan's on my 2013 Kubota B had cracks in them.
I emailed Carlisle, they asked for pics, then sent me four brand new tires. And told me how to read the date codes so when you buy tires, you can see how long they have been sitting.

They are one of the few places were I have still gotten real customer service.
