One more point about the airless- the 5 gallon cans have a small screw top in the lid. With this setup and a rag or something you will spill very little if any paint as you bounce around. A nice airless is good for other projects or you can typically rent them from the paint store or rental yard.

I think the majority of the airless hold pretty limited amounts of paint? I have a few miles of fence. Which is why I was looking at a paint pot. But for the price point, maybe an airless would suffice? Then it goes back to the amount of paint volume itself.

Airless Paint Sprayer Kit

At a previous job I painted semi trailers now and then.
With an Airless Sprayer I could paint a 45' trailer in 45 minutes!
And 30 minutes of that time was moving the ladder!
Airless is great with latex paint but solvent paints are a pain to clean and use a lot of solvent to clean properly.

Ok , see if you can find a airless parking lot striper . Why ? Its an airless paint sprayer , gas powered on wheels .No generator needed .

Second Idea , If you are interested , I have 2 old air atomizing parking lot stripers , They havent been run in years , but they are paint pots on wheels , 4 or 5 gallons . I use to use hoses off my old torches and an car paint gun and paint equipment with one .

I have a 2.5 gal pot in the shop for my HVLP Binks gun, California Technology brand. These guys sell them: C.A. Technologies Pressure Paint Tanks and Pots

But for the price of one, you can buy a mid-level Graco airless, which is what I use for fences, siding, etc. Sits right over a 5 gal bucket and REALLY puts out the paint. It will paint faster than you can move....I suggest a 50' hose to go with it.

I have been swayed to look at the airless. In fact, I completely forgot about my outbuildings. Guess one doesn't think about bad things. LOL.

In any case, the airless looks to be the right tool for the job, and has the benefit of simplicity in setup and operations. The price point, especially with the super coupon from HF, looks agreeable. Thanks for pointing that out George2615.

If you had a project or two to do, the HF unit would probably be fine.

You're talking about miles of fence, that's a big job. I would even not consider a Chinese tool for that kind of job.

I suggest you buy a Graco.

This isn't a buy it and your good to go forever tool, they do require parts to be replaced after spraying a certain amount of material.

Any Sherwin Williams, or other paint store, has parts for a Graco in stock.
