Harbor Freight Tools that don't suck

Those are tempting. I've also seen on Amazon similar units with 19 volts out to power a laptop which looks like a worthwhile feature.

But its important to read Amazon reviews - quality and actual usable current output seems to be all over the place depending on brand.

Costco also carries one that goes for about $55. As usual with Costco, they don't always stock it but it reappears every six weeks or so.

I've had one for 3 years now. Works fine. Tires are good and have never leaked.
But I just barely knocked into it and bent the rims. Surprise, They are pretty thin sheet metal.
Not a problem though I was able to easily bend them back by whacking them. This was a year ago.

The hand truck? I've seen HF reviews saying all their small mounted tires have this problem, ok to roll across a smooth floor but useless for anything that will put side stress on them because they will fold under. I think the dolly with a trailer ball on it for moving a trailer around was the last place I saw this - not suitable for use on dirt.

Too funny! I just bought one today. Someone asked if I wanted a downed tree for firewood. They sent me some pictures. I said SURE! When I got there, I found the tree was inside a fence! Couldn't get the trailer anywhere near it. Fence wasn't in the pictures. :laughing: So my wife and I cut the smaller stuff up to about 16" and I carried it out to the trailer. For the bigger stuff, I got this hand truck with the bigger tires to haul the rounds out through the gate and up the ramps on my trailer. Hoping it works out well. Haven't looked it over too well yet. Read some reviews about the hubs breaking. Didn't see any grease zerks on it either. Will have to look it over a bit more in the daylight tomorrow.

I bought that hand truck at HF in 2008 to haul furniture and trailerloads of books liquidating Mom's estate. It worked great in that application, sure saved my back. (except the tires need to be aired up every 5 days or so).

I haven't had a use for it since. So I considered adding a long tongue and using it as a tiny trailer to haul my harvest ladder down to the back of the orchard to the family trees down there - an improvement to hauling ladders on the rear-forks platform. (photo). But I haven't. I doubt it would stand up to that use.

I bought a HF hand truck and brought to a family white elephant gift exchange. My poor 18 year old niece got stuck with it. I thought it would be a hit with one of the guys but no one stepped up to exchange. I would have swapped but I already had one and the the bottle of booze I luckily drew was hard to part with for an extra truck. :laughing:

That sounds like a much stronger benchtop drill than the one I bought there 20 years ago. (and recently sold at a yard sale). Is yours their least expensive one, or a step better?

It was not the least expensive one, it was 135 minus the 25% coupon I had. The chop saw was on clearance for 89 bucks. I am sure the drill press isn't perfect, but for what I do it will work much better than what I was using before. I just need to get the welder out to the barn so I can get some work done!

We have had one of the red ones for 4 years now and it works great, used it to move twice, moved all of our heavy furniture and appliances with no problems. Awesome deal for $40.

Have had 2 of those HF hand trucks for years now. They work just fine. I modified one to carry my Oxy-Acetylene tanks, and the other is for general use, and it gets used all the time. Tires need re-aired once every 6 months or so. Mine are a bit taller than 4-1/2" though
