Ouch!

I just give up at 59 now, I can pour myself glass of tea, put the pitcher in the fridge & have to look for the glass by the time I turn around:confused3:

Add 17 more years,.... it gets even worse!

I've found myself sitting on the edge of the bed with one sock off and one on and then have to remember if I'm getting up or going to bed.

Even after stumbling and tripping and losing my balance over the last few years I decided to add on a garage with 10' walls ans 10-12 pitch trusses. I had to stay focused as I scurried up and down on the walls and the roof and make sure I was in control everywhere I put my foot down. Luckily I didn't fall at all during the process.

I think the key is to pay attention to your surrounds but that is easier said than done when everything gets repetitious.

I was drywalling a few years ago and using a plank on two ladders. After a couple days I consciously thought I was doing great. I could walk back and forth and not even focus on the ladder...but then withing 5 minutes going back and forth on the scaffolding I tripped on the ladder I used to get up there and I thought to myself I will just jump because it was only 5-6' off the ground. The problem was that the ladder I tripped on fell over and landed right where I was going to jump. I landed horizontally right on top of the ladder. The ladder skinned one shin almost to the bone. I was more careful after that.

Lol, thanks....that makes me feel better.

It's not a problem it's an attribute. What's going on is your focusing 100% on what your doing and overlook everything else.

I have been wearing glasses since I was 2 (70 now), one day back when I was about 13-14 I searched around the house high and low looking for my glasses. My mother finally asked me what I was looking for, I told her my glasses. She told me to look in the mirror. The G-D things were on my nose all the time.

How about walking to another room in the house to get something or do something and by the time you get there, you forget what you went for.

Most of my injuries involve banging into or tripping over something (often more than once -- like the time I walked into my raised tractor bucket not once, but twice, and got two nice eggs on my head) but yesterday I got to experience something new. I was out walking along one of our property lines. Took off my gloves so I could use my cell phone to look at a map, and when putting the phone back in my pocket I swung my hand through a big thorn bush. I must have got 15-20 prickers stuck in my hand and fingers, so I was out there in the woods plucking them out for a while, and had a nice sore hand the rest of the day.

Not to worry, it only gets worse as you grow older. :D
A while back after being out for an hour or 2, I have one black shoe & 1 brown shoe on. one is a high top & other a low.
Balance also goes to he77. Almost fell over a day or 2 ago. Needed to grab something. Grab an octiila. Not the right thing to grab. sharp thorns 1 to 2 inches long. Naturally it starts to bleed. My day is hardly ever complete until i do something stupid or painful.
A while back using a brad mailer, holding a board with 1 hand & shooting brads in from other side. Yep right into a joint in my finger.
Wanted to poke a hole in barn to run an extension cord through. naturally I had to hit my knuckle & thumb joint.
I can loose a tool while using it. If i lay it down & turn around, it must have moved its self.:D Cause its now in hiding.

Have several projects where I need to climb a ladder. Use both hands, look at where feet are. Move tool, & go up 1 step, then do it all again.

need to clean out crock pot for some ribs that I killed. Fill with soapy water. Forget it & leave it on high. Now worse than when I started.

Turning simple projects in to a real pain.
Have 3 routers, 1 is so wimpy, even on a light cut it stalls out. 1 Lost its ability to be adjusted up or down No problem I have another 1 that needs a new plug. That goes real well. Use to have a real good aluminum table, its gone, now have cheap plastic, it is crummy & way too light. Finally get a screw started, it will not go in, wrong threads?? 1/2 Hour, find tap, it cuts nothing, but screw go in. The routher is not a cheap O, Porter Cable. It adjusts up & down. Small problem, loosen hold in place screw. But its just a guess shove it up a little, look ooopps up to far, let it down a little, ooopps too much. In a little over an hour I have it set. Equal depth both ways. 1 more small problem. Cutting way to much, it keeps kicking board out.

When younger I could put a 50# sack of dog food under each arm & walk a 100 yards or more. Now its a problem just picking 1 up.

Having problems with hoses, no problem I have lots of them. Find 1 not too stiff, or kinked up. Lets use it, nice female coupling on the end, Use other end. another female coupling on other end as well. When, how & why did I do that. Must have been someone else.

Its time for a beer, relax and let frustration ease up. 1 Beer will not do it, time for number 2 & 3.:thumbsup::thumbsup:

No more projects, enjoy ghe beer & think about what the he77 has become of me. Almost instantly, was in great shape about 5 years ago. Now 77, doubt that anything will get better.

Beer makers are starting to love me. :D
