Hello all. I've been a member for a couple years but have delayed buying a tractor. Now I think I'm going to do it. I think this is a good deal. Tell me what you think. New 1538 shuttle shift with loader and filled tires 19,450.
I went to look at a 1526 and they wanted 18600 for it. For the price difference it's a no brainer to me.

Sounds good. I paid $20,400 for that machine with HST (no sales tax cuz it was over state line and I took free delivery) at the end of Nov 2016. I've been very happy with the machine.

The 1526 I looked at was HST and I wouldn't mind it at all but the deal on the 1538 is only on the shuttle. I drove it around the lot and found it simple and easy to operate though so I'm ok with it.
What is your experience with it so far? Mostly mowing or loader work or????
My property is pretty hilly as well, is it fairly stable? I thought so and it's wider than most in the category. Any input would be appreciated.

I looked at the 1533 HST and 2555 Shuttle, I was about a day away from signing on the 1533 but I really thought about the 1538 HST, can't remember the price on just the tractor but the 1533 HST with a FEL, 6ft land plane, 7ft rear blade and pallet forks (heavier ones mahindra had) was 23k and change after tax, I ended up getting a good deal on a used tractor instead for a little more money.

Great choice on tractor though, buying new I would get a mahindra.

So I'm on 5 acres and up the side of a hill. I got it in the fall and have done road maintenance and repair and now I'm moving snow with a front blade. It has performed very well. I put chains on the front. I made a few YouTube videos of the 1538. They should be fairly easy to find.
HST vs Shuttle? For what I do the HST was the way to go. I didn't even try the shuttle (I've had them in the past). It has worked well.

Edit- it seems stable. The tires are big for a machine this size. It looks a little funny at first but the ride and stability both benefit. I thought I was going to upgrade the seat to something with armrests. But now that I've used it with the current seat I see no need. It's a good factory seat.

That sounds good to me. I have pretty much the same machine with a backhoe added and one rear remote option. Make sure you get them to flash the ECU with the latest code before delivery.

I'll definitely see about the current ecu code. The tractor just got to their dealership last week so it should be current but I'll make sure. Thanks for the feedback everyone. I started the process and will most likely have it home next week sometime. I'm excited.

The Mitsubishi Shuttle Shift is not hard to get along with, especially if you road a lot and do ground engagement. Good luck. Machine should be peppy & stable, load the tires or ballast box.

Yeah well I don't think the Mahindra distribution chain does all it can to keep the ECUs up to date. Mine came with the temp gauge inop until they reflashed the ECU and for some strange reason Mahindra wanted it hauled all the way back to the dealer to have it done. Lucky for me I choose my dealer wisely and he took care of it for me at no cost.

Well I got it!! I'm like a kid on Christmas! They delivered this afternoon. They flashed the ecu this morning and were thorough and very helpful! Free delivery and I live about 70 miles from the dealer. Now comes the fun of getting to know my new tractor. I'm already impressed with the stability on my hilly property. I'm a newbie to anything this size so I'll probably be bugging ya'll about it!
