Burma Shave?

I have vivid memories as a kid, riding along in the back seat, Missouri to Northern Iowa on 2 lane hiways. Primarily Hiway 69. I stayed awake and paid attention out the window looking for those ads. They were spaced just right so you were anticipating the next message. Those were the days!!!! :)

Lug "T"posts present a sort of unique problem when you wish to add a sign to them--NO HOLES. I recently acquired 50 lug posts which I plan to use to post my property. "U" posts would have been a much better choice, but the lug posts cost me almost nothing and the prior owner left the " "T" post wrap around insulators" on the posts. To attach the posted sign, I cut the fence holding nubs off each insulator with a hack saw, drilled the appropriate sized hole through the center of each insulator, and attached the sign using two backers (one front/one back) and a pop rivet through the drilled hole after attaching the insulators in the appropriate location on the fence.

i just take a scrap piece of 2x4 and cut a groove down the center, then wire it to the post letting the nubs ride inthe groove. now I have a wood block to nail/screw stuff to.

I do the same thing except I use 2x8or 2x10 treated and U-bolts, then screw the AL signs to the 2x. Makes it a little harder for the trespassers to tear down.

On the T post thing...at an auction once, I bought 75 of them that were bent and cheap. I can vouch for the steel because it took two anvils, two sledge hammers and all day to straighten them. One or two, yes but never again and more than that. I think that's why most of the older ones only surface rust.

T posts are like angle iron bed frames. There is no telling what they might be made out of. All kinds of low-grade crap put together. I wouldn't plan on easily cutting, welding, or drilling them. Some will. Some won't.

U-bolts/etc. seems like a good plan.

From Wikipedia:

"A steel fence post, also called (depending on design or country) a T-post, a Y-post, or variants on star post, is a type of fence post or picket. They are made of steel and are sometimes manufactured using durable rail steel. They can be used to support various types of wire or wire mesh".

"Posted signs"?

I hope you mean signs that have been posted (i.e., put on a post where they are visible) and not those "Celebrate ignorance!" signs that actually has the word "Posted" on them.

The ignorance is actually on those that don't understand what the sign means.

Google 'posted land'

'posted' itself has a meaning. ;)

Ignorance can be bliss.. till someone calls you on it. ;)
